Advice on Job needed !

  Hi all,

   

  Im currently persuin a degree majoring in English and minoring in Business in SIM university.

  However, I have no wish to become a English teacher but I have no idea what other jobs i can do in relations to my degree.

   

  Any advice will be much appreciated !!

  hey thks all steady sg forumners for ur prompt replies !!

   

  i thought bout joining the press or gng into writing, but tt would be fallin under mass communications category. And I will be losing out to those with degree in communications.

  Therefore, are there any other jobs that will suit my degree ?

  Since you have a minor in Biz, why not do accountancy or marketing?

  I take this course because I really like to study English. Plus I have a diploma in Business applications. So i thought it'd be gd for me.

   

  I can go into marketing with my degree?

  Besides marketing, are there any other jobs i can go into?

  english with business shd be good for marketing
  such as writing marketing collaterals, content for websites

  Hmm... Marketing sounds like a very interesting and viable option.

   

  But I'd like to know if I will lose out to those who actually have a degree in Marketing? Although for my course I can pick  alot of marketing modules

  u have the advantage of good english, which is very valuable in SG
  and with the minor in biz, im sure u can pick up the trade easily
  
  the rest u need is good luck to land in a good co.

  Usually marketing modules are bundled with accountancy courses.

  Hi guys.

  thks for ur valuable inputs. Much appreciated.

  Say I'd like to go into marketing line, will I be able to get a job in a company with my degree?

   If so, what should I do in the mean time while I study for my degree. (cause classes are at night).

  If you're going to consider internet marketing.. you should research now about it. It's a nice option for you since you're majoring in english with business background.. anyway, do you have a blog? I asked because it's already one way of internet marketing.

  unfortunately i do not have a blog. U mean companies actually hire ppl for internet marketing?

  any minimum requirements?
