It really depends on the market.
For a fresh man (after rod), except no less than $2k per month (if u are a degree holder, that is different).
For a start, learn the trade and then move up the ladder.
I think he means not more than 2 k per month.
Currently the economy is not doing veri well yet, the job u will be getting will be tough and of course lower pay. But then as likeyou said, every trade is different, just find one you think thats suits you and stay in that trade and move up slowly.
And i will say the highest paying job u can find is probably 1.8 highest.
1K to 1.2K in office admin or kitchen helper if u are lucky.... so if u really need money.. sign on will be better
Seem like it is indeed very hard to find a job that can pay $1.8k per month.
With many foreigners coming to spore and can work as low as $1k per month, sporean gonna died of hunger.
any trade. Start from 1.2k. That all.
Why the TS don't want to sign on?
hard to get a decent job above 1.6k with only nitec.
signing on would be better. you will be sponsored to do ur diploma part time, which will help u more in job seeking after the 5 yr bond
MLM
even university degree holders have a tough time finding jobs, due to the great number of graduates. they can expect about $2.2k. For you, try to go for $1.6k.
1) McDonalds Delivery Man $1.5k
2) Sales Assistant to any shop $2k
3) Sales Promoter $1.5k + commission
Those family who pump in hundred of thousands of dollars just to have his children get a decent degree. IN the end, they can only work for less than $3k per month.
Is it worth it for all the money spend?

Sure or not. $1,500 for McDonalds Delivery Man???? I thought its $800??
Sales assistant $1,200 at most.
Sales promoter at most $1,000.

In the long run, worth it.
For those in the manual labour and service industry, they earn more to begin with cos they are physically fit and young, but when they turn into their 40s, they start earning lesser and lesser because they arent fit and be as efficient as those young lads.
Whereas for those working in the office, they become more valuable as they mature and grow older and tend to have higher pay as they advance up. =)

Bus driver will be about $1,200 after overtime I guess.
Cooking assistant will be about $1,200 I guess.
Admin Clerk will be about $1,300.
Try for DXO (defence executive officer) maybe, will be about $1,400.
You are more likely looking at jobs between $1,200 - $1,400.

No.
I rather use the hundred of thousands of dollars to buy a hdb flat and rent it out and earn 1k rental a month even more worth it
My advice to u. If you not trained to be a general or player in the market.
Just work up and climb step by step. U cannot rush things. One most important remark, There is no shortcuts.
Those succeed with shortcuts are only for the time being. Later they will suffer.

When u got hundreds of thousand, HDB wun let u buy their house.
Either u invest in stock market or Buy condo property. When u have those money, i dun believe u aim 1k of rental per month.

Depend on your luck and how do u being groomed. If u do not change yourself, you will still remain the same.

I agreed. Sign on for the time being to solve your financial means. In the meantime, prepare yourself to go out of the society. You are still so young. 5 years will be just nice. But it is going to be tough. Working in the day and study at night. The determination must be very strong.
This is the best advice.

So if I got 200k savings and I want to buy a 4 room hdb flat HDB won't allow me to buy their house?
Yes. THis one u must check. but if your salary exceed a certain range. They wun let u buy HDB. It u got 200k. They will check if your money come from legal mean.(provided you money are being through tax)
One thing. they put there 200k doesn't mean if you got cash u can buy it COD. They will need you to pay via INSTALLMENT. They want your Interest. Understand.
No people do gui ben business one. Same to government.

Let me advice u one more. Those rich man in singapore are only rich in shares. They do not got the exact
Example
Tan Ah Kow - Fortune USD 61 millions - maybe 60 millions in shares from differ companies. 1 million in properies and cash. If stocks falls.
Surely his fortunes become half like Fortune 30 million left.
Give a thought to it. Think outside the box.
