6 years pri, 4 years sec, 3 years poly. The world class education system in singapore is only worth $1200 per month?

who ask you to take up a $1200 job? must be those stand there nice nice saleman, those are useless, good to look only, but pocket inside got nothing. Go engineering, get yourself dirty, they will send you oversea for courses, and in 10 years, you can be the lead engineer earning 10 to 12 k

These days, the labour market in Singapore has been destroyed by the PAP government.
Demand for labour is fixed, while supply of labour is variable (they can always import more from China and India).

There are also no active worker's union in Singapore, NTUC is more a business organisation than a worker's union, it's businesses includes supermarkets, casket, pawnshop................
No proper worker's union and unrestricted inflow of foreign labourers. How can one not expect the wages of ordinary workers to drop?
The only real wage growth during the past few decades is Ministerial salaries.

I have a friend who graduated from poly with a diploma in Banking and Finance. She got offered a $1,200 job as an admin assistant, she didn't take it up. She then worked as a production operator for a few months before finding a job with NEA.
She doesn't surf or troll in forum, but still she got offered $1,200.

In Singapore, there are no workers' rights.
If you have a union head to speak up for your workers, the MM or PM will step in and throw you out of Singapore.

scrap poly. IMO it is a useless institution.

poly is not useless. it educates so many people.
and to TS, look at it this way. An education is like a sports league. If you're awesome at it, you become rich and famous at the top of the league. If you're mediocre, you stay mediocre and earn 1.2k a month

I would suggest working overseas
At least more pay. Also, with the overseas experience you are worth more when you come back SG to work.

The whole workforce of Singapore should drive taxis, then everybody in Singapore will get $3,600 a month.

Eagle is earning about 3.5 times that of $1.2 k
ie TS get about $100 for 1 year of study for the 13 years of education and Eagle
gets $1,100 more for each extra year of study for his 3 extra years of study.
Somemore, he got many other lobangs ie sources of incomes ie tuition, investment in stocks, writing etc and he once wrote in the forum that his other sources of incomes are more than his monthly salary as a professional engineer.
