ahh, so you are a grad in acc and finance. I always find this line funny or strange - oxymoron.
There are so many ads in the papers for acc related jobs but so few grads can get hired! I wonder why!

I have thought of not accepting it initially, but if I dun, I dunno when I will get a job, esp when it is year end liao, more difficult to find a job now. I intend to work first and then quit next year, say after chinese new year. hopefully by then the economy is much much better than now and plenty of jobs in 2010. fingers crossed.
if you are me, what will you have done? if quit this company, have to serve 2 months or pay 2 months pay. lucky this pay is not high, I can work for 1 month for free and then pay 1 month of pay to them.
erm you are MSO grade 4 is it?
Cos I heard if degree holder be MSO they will start at a higher grade like say MSO grade 4.
Whereas diploma or A level usually start with MSO grade 6 unless they got lots of experience than maybe start with MSO grade 5.
So your salary is still higher than diploma/A level holder..
Btw this is govt job the benefits better than pte sector espically SME..
Maybe you might want to consider work long in the govt sector..can get promoted etc than get pay increment..
Btw, you leave the pte sch to join govt sector as MSO. Did you get a pay cut or pay increment?

Actually you won't know what will happen in the job..it might be a blessing in disguise..
Maybe after 3 months probation you get pay increment leh?
Maybe few months later your boss resign and you take over him and get pay increment too leh?

1700 is too low for a degree holder even without experience. You should request at least 2k

yes thats right. now is employer's world, employer taking advantage for the economic situation now, and offer pay like 1.6k for fresh grad. last time my ex colleague took on job of 1.5k in 2002, as sg was recovering from the 2001 economic crisis and 9-11.
