I believed most resumes are not true. some embellished their resume to make it look better, especially if you are a job hopper, who change jobs a few times a year. if not interviewer will ask you why you change jobs that often and your chances of landing that job is zero, especially in an economic climate now, where it is an employer's world.
does the HR do reference check on you before they decide to offer you employment? some companies HR simply didnt check and offer the candidate the job. some didnt even bother to ask you for their certificates. I got a job last time, but the HR didnt asked me for my certificates or to verify them.
they may not need your certificates.. all they have to do is to call the registrar of your university and they'll have your academic history
what if your university is overseas lol. abit mafan to email or call them to verify right. what if they dun reply to your email or letter, asking for verification lol.
what about your previous job history? do they call or email to your previous employer to check on you?
even if u get by and got the job...
u started on a wrong foot... and that alone might cost u dearly in the near future... aft all u had achieved...

the uni doesn't reply, you don't get the job..
it's the job of the registrar to reply to these things...
anyway, my organisation HR does check on past history..
sometimes they need staff urgently so they don't want to waste time doing all the checks
how many lied in the resume? like you actually worked in the co for 2 years, but you actually worked there for 1 year. will the new co check and verify with your previous employer?
what goes around, comes around..
if one checks, and finds that you have lied, you can forget about getting employed again..
yes you are right. a lie told repeatedly will get exposed one day. I wonder how many are caught out this way?
that's why there is the 3/6 mths probation period. This is when they observed how you work or check up ur resume. My ex-company did fired ppl for incompetence during the probation period where they claim these and that but in the end, when start work, all the lies start to fall apart.

I see. if you do not have the skill set, you do not have it. resume and interview can lie, but performance do not.
My company had a big problem with fresh grads.
When during the interview they super confident, got good grades, resume write nice nice, but when employed they cannot adjust to working life, do a lot of stupid mistakes, in the end got fired. Wah this kind go back to study better la. Happened twice already.

no chance or warning given lol
die liao jialat. I lied in my resume that I worked for 2 years but I worked for less than that. this agency has found a job for me, I attended the interview and called me to say they wanted to offer me the job. now they are doing the check on my previous company, awaiting their reply. there goes this job I supposed after they found out.

OUt of curiosity, are these local grads? I have heard that many foreign companies prefer to employ overseas grads coz they deem that local grads cannot think out of the box.
too honest in life also not good?
Anyway bosses also never been honest too ya
i actually did lie on one of my jobs but i got that job ^^. I never work as a waitress before but River quay seafood restaurant told me that do i have any experience being a waitress before and i just blurted out yes =.=. I really want this job so here i am in the same restaurant. They did suspect that im lying when i took orders from customers though but its ok. i got experience now so it went smoothly

if that is the case, why not work for local companies lol. local companies tend to employ local grads and not foreign ones. same attitude with the government and stat board jobs.
are you a foreign grad by the way?

even my boss complain to me that time they cannot make it. do simple things also do wrong. (eg: write a contract to offer to a new employee, he write the person's salary wrong, or his address wrong, or spell name wrong, etc.)
