Have you ever worked in a company that does not pay 13 month bonus and only pays performance bonus?
Meaning that the company can just say that your performance is lousy or the company is not making money than you get zero bonus.
Are there very high resignation rates in these type of companies?
I am currently working in a company that does not pay 13 month bonus and from what I heard the company have very high resignation rates and most of the staffs there do not work for more than 3 years than they will leave the company..
whats wrong with that?
if your performance is good and did a good job, of cos there will be bonus.
and of cos being good is not enough, must be really good.
why would they want to piss off a good worker?

bonus also want kpkb. you are lucky enough to have the job now.
i bet most china ppl willing to take your job and 1/2 of ur current pay with no bonus.

I have heard of companies who merge their 13th month pay into the monthly salary... Means no 13th month, but higher monthly salaries...
weekly rated = 100 x 52 = 5200 per year
monthly rated = 100 x 4 x12 = 4800
13 month is last time used to balance the 1 month short chain
are you talking about 13 months of salary i.e. 12 months regular salary + 1 month bonus or
13 months of bonus i.e. 12 months regular salary + 13 months bonus = 25 months salary?
this year civil servants get performance bonus but might not get the 13 month bonus

Ya but some companies don't pay 13 month bonus but still don't have higher monthly salaries
IF you do the maths properly you'll realize that
1 year = 52 weeks
1 Year = 12months
Paid salary = 12 months.
If paid weekly like England we get paid 52 weeks.
52 weeks is about 13 months.
That's why 13th month is compulsary.

Yah, the term "bonus" is actually quite misleading.
A lot of people think they are getting something extra when it is actually base salary.

SIA paid like 6 months bonus n 1 month 13th month pay some years ago..
Big companies got big spending poower man.. maybe those smaller companies are going around the system.

Well, depends whether you're getting a fat pay check monthly.. or a low pay but getting many months of bonus.

The Annual Wage Supplement is a discretionary payment to current employees as at 31 December of the year.
It is supposed to make you happy, and keep you from job hopping. Many wait till they receive their AWS, then tender their resignation.

My company doesn't have performance or 13th month bonus... but the resignation rate isn't quite bad. Our monthly salary is higher than average, but after calculations, it's roughly the same as those who are paid bonuses. Could be lower, especially those with performance bonuses.
Hehe, some have stayed there for 10 years, 20 years.
I guess it boils down to which department you are in... if satisfying and challenging, you might not want to leave.

I work in such a coy for 4 years plus... but then it was temporary before, during and after my studies and most of the staffs stay there for years.
