Your resume and educational certificates

When you go for a job interview, they will ask for a photocopy of your education certificates and resume.
For those unsuccessful candiates, what will they do with your certificates and resume after that?
Keep it or throw away?
Don't say craps like they will keep your resume for future jobs which maybe suitable for you. I went for so many interviews already and none of the companies ever call me back in future so I know that this is crap that is said just to console you.

Can still use the other side of the paper to jot down phone numbers and messenges when people call the HR department.
Reuse and recycle.

Not 100% true. They cut it in half and staple it before using it to jot numbers.

Depends - the more fancy ones use admin staff.
The really buak bodoh resumes get pinned up on the notice board in the kitchen, next to the biscuits, which doesn't make any sense. People read the resumes, laugh and spray their coffee all over the biscuits, then we have to go and get some more biscuits.

So what do you do with phone numbers of people who are not interested in buying property from you?

Well, I might start asking people in sgforums what HR departments do with photocopies of my resume and certificates.
Do they keep it or throw them away?

For other people I am not sure.
But I know for resumes and certificates of cmi property agents, they will keep it and post it on the notice board as a warning to their staff so they can avoid you when you approach them in future
This could be 1 of the reason why you are a cmi property agent because everywhere you go your resume and namecard get posted as a warning and everybody siam you

no lah..they wont throw it away of cos. they will collate all the details u've written on ur resume and sell to other companies so they can do marketing.
that's why we get these irritating calls from promoters..
.... im really just anyhow guessing. i have absolutely no idea.

depends on the practice of the HR depts. Some keep for reference for suitable vacancies available. I was called a few times by a few companies for new positions though they did not select me for that post i applied for.
Some companies will just shred the resumes and the related docs.

hur, honestly, maybe you can redo your resume and see if you can just add in more to your resume to get into jobs lor.

When they do not choose you for the job, ask them to return you the resume and photocopies of your certificates lah so you can re-use them for another job opening.
Also, you don't need to wonder what they will do with your resume and photocopies of your certificates lor.
You must ask for the return of your photograph hor especially you are very beautiful or very handsome. You don't know what they will do with your photo hor.
OK, to be serious now.
It is discouraging when one is unable to get the job.
Most companies are responsible and they will not mis-use the information ie resume and photocopies of your certificates. They will shred them usually. Some companies do really keep them for future openings or the one that they selected left shortly and they might call you up. So don't despair.

they will just shred it and dump it away... but maybe those that are short of $$ will take ya I/C and then go borrow $$ from loanshark

same thing happened right after national service.a few companies wanted all certs copies n resume.then i never did hear from them.i think the hr department takes yer certs,,,changed it and put in a chinaman or chinawoman name on it!!thats what i thought!
they might be worth something in the human resource black market for agents.just get a copy of a recent cert...enter someones else name..n presto!the designated person has the job!
i guess they dun like to get old certs due to fact that they are hard to convince...
eg)xiaoxia who is a recent grad from china n needs a job in spore...she majors in electronics back in 2008....she needs a job in spore
so she gets job agents to help her get a spore job fer $10k
thing is there isnt vacancies fer engineering in spore due to recession but there are jobs in the banks or companies as clerical staff etc.
so the agents go get a copy of say a computer proficiency cert or cert in information technology or something thats relavent to job!
the job agents have normally wide contacts with various company human resource manager.
so when a unsuspecting person goes fer the interview n gives certs as requested....they are gladly taken n sent or emailedscanned copies to job agents fer name alterations.
the end of the job interview!
MOST JOBS THAT HAVE NO HANKY PANKY ONLY COLLECT COPIES OF YOUR CERTS AFTER SUCCESFUL INTERVIEWS WHERE U ONLY START WERK AFTER MEDICAL CHECKUP.

I collect a whole stack of them, put one of those huge clips to it and use it as scrap paper for scribbling and sketching.
The photocopied ICs, I use it to sign hp lines or borrow cash.
