I dunno abt the UOB program, but GE actually has something like this in place for years and they call it a "manager training program". I provided support work for one of their businesses years back and had a good peek into their program.
For their manager training program they will scour the globe looking recruit the brightest graduates incl from SG nus. Then each of these grads have to go on a 2 year "tour of duty" and attach to at least 5-6 different businesses in GE all over the world on a 3-6 month basis with pay and board provided. The work that these imlp do mostly understudy senior management people in GE most of the time they are like personal assistants cum secretaries cum office boy/girl not easy work etc ... but if they endure the tenure they will finally be flown to cincinati one the major companies in GE and "graduate" from there ...... then only they start from the bottom of the corporate ladder but within 2 years they will promote very fast at least twice to full fledge greenbelt executives
