I am interested in joining the STAR team in the SPF is there anyway I can sign on or do I have to be a regular police officer first. I'm due for NS soon and would like to transfer if it's possible as the STAR unit is what I'm very interested in.
Anyone knows?

I read a response to another person's question on the SPF facebook page...
They said the next recruitment is 2016. Because their selection process and limited numbers needed, they don't do active/constant recruitment.
All STAR officers are regulars, as there are very specialised (and sensitive) special training that they don't want any tom, dick and harry to know.
Why don't you talk to the SPF recruitment centre...
How about considering for SAF's Special Forces Selection?
