For higher nitec and below, (CPL) signing 2years (not inclusive 6months of HTA training) 10k bonus.
For diploma holder (SGT), signing 3years bond (not inclusive 6months of HTA training) 30k bonus.
For MTE (CPL), 5years bond (not inclusive 6months of HTA training) 10k bonus.

If i not wrong, any of the handphone shop have the service. You probably have to get a cert to prove that your camera is been remove from your phone. Why not you just get a second hand phone ( hua wei )? Can access facebook youtube twitter whatsapp too.
Hi paperwormy.
May I know what is the meaning of MTE and why is there the difference between the MTE and sergeant sign on bonus?
Hi paperwormy,
Heard from my friends huawei very lag and a lot problems haha that's why. Thinking of removing the camera from old iPhone 4.
Normal handphone shops don't provide the cert I think, I asked a few 2nd hand hp shops and when I asked about the cert they say they're not sure what is that.

MTE is those who have not completed their NS, and need to have 5years bond with the SPF. You can check on spf.gov.sg =)

Hmmm, you can go singtel/starhub main branch and ask whether do they have the services? And only 6months, no point la hahhha.
MTE is Minimum Term Engagement. Basically 2 years NS + another 3 years. But you will received regular pay in those 5 years. Not much difference from those who sign on after completed their NS because they will still serve a minimum of 5 years under the govt.
The idea of MTE, i think, is to prevent guys from skipping NS
But the 20k difference if u sign on under MTE and sign on after ORD is so huge.
Yup! Because we are paid peanuts during NS while those signing on b4 NS are gettimg 2k+ a month. Lets just say those who got the extra 20k is considered 'backpay'.
Rifm u got a good point there. Which one will u choose? Sign on as MTE OR after NS better?
Guys one more question
For those who sign on mid way into NS, will you be back pay?
If you are so sure about signing on, then MTE would be a better choice. While others are just about to start working full time, you are already financially stable and should be able to pursue the next step in your police career like CID, task force etc. And you can also apply for part time degree and wont lose any ground with those who are also going back to Uni after NS. Your cpf should also be quite healthy by thr time you are 25 or 26 and ready to settle down.
And if you dont feel like continuing in the force, you are still young enough to venture into other things without worrying about any other commitments.
Just my 2cents
Im not sure about the police force. But for the army, you'll get backpay. Maybe its the same for police? Or they ask you to complete your NS first before signing the bond
Hey rifm, still no news? Seeing all these people enlisting soon, the feeling really sucks hahaha.
Hi johnny. No news still. Im actually quite okay with the wait because theres a be project going on in my current job which will end in february. At the same time, i just want to know if im accepted or not.And the wait is killing me!
theres a big* project
Lets wait together
Tues medical check up. Guess i'll need to wait for another month at least
Good to know you're actually holding a full time job meanwhile, rifm. Whereas for me I've only been doing odd part time jobs since I Ord - ed back in June.
Congrats DanT on the medical. I don't think I'll be able to go on like this. Giving myself till end of Sep

I actually did email them last week. They called me few days back, saying the process will take 4-6 months, and nothing will be guaranteed.
Rifm
The spf website states that "There will be a bond of 3 years and 2 years for the sign-on bonus for Sergeants and Corporals respectively, effective from the date of appointment. The bond will run concurrent with the Minimum Term of Engagement (MTE) period and Training bond."
Does this mean that if sign on during NS will also be eligible for the 30K sign on bonus?
