Also, do we need to bring anything extra apart from those items stated in the letter they gave during the bond-signing session? The items seems pretty little compared to those serving police NS.
Hey Kuroneko! Mine is also on the 9th! :) you went for the bond signing session already? Mine is on the 2nd. See you around!
Hi guys, I want to apply for SPF but am afraid my BMI might be an issue....My BMI is 25.3 currently....what do you guys think?
Hi Annahanna, I prepared the one strength and one weakness but they never ask. They also never tell me info abt the force. They asked me any questions to ask. haha.
Did they tell you how long the application you need to wait?.
Hi Fithbusa, Bmi 25.3 overshot a bit only. I think is not an issue. You can try apply, no harm trying. I'm underweight i also applied. What's most impt is your passion about being a police officer. Bmi we can train, so no worries.
Hi bro Dreiframe, there is many harm in trying when not prepared...in my case at least....as I am already 26 yrs old..i heard that is the last age for entry...and bmi is abit on the high side...
I wanna do it once and do it good...coz 3 years ago I already did medical check up but while waiting poly admission came knocking..so i chose the latter...so now abit like short of time...getting old..
Hi Fifrthbusa, No, it’s not too late for you to join the force at 26. You will only lost out a few years to those who joined the force in their early 20s. I'm turning 27 next year too, but i went. I don't think the last age for entry is 26.
bro Dreiframe, do keep us updated of ur timeline...very interested..
Good Luck and All the Best to all!!! I'm 34 years old and age is not a barrier, the retirement age is 55 to 60. i already finshed my medical on 29th Aug 2014 and still waiting for comfirmation. just 2 days ago officer from police recruitment email me to furnish certain documents to scan and submit so i guess there's still hope for people who are passionate to join the force at mid 30s or want a mid career switch.
I wanna share my application time line with you guys:
16th June - Submitted my online application
19th June - Received both SMS and Email for SA Invitation
26th June - Selection Assesment with includes 1st Interview with 2 people
24th July - Received SMS to Attend 2nd Interview
31st July - Attended 2nd Panel Interview with 3 people
25th Aug - Received both Call & Email from Shenton Medical to fix Appointment
29th Aug - Went for Medical Screening at Shenton Medical.
26th Nov - Received email to scan & submit outstanding documents to police recruitment
So Currently still waiting for confirmation so far the whole process took almost 6 months!
Don't give up i'm 34 years old this year so theres to age barrier unless you're 55 years old lol
Hi Dreiframe, I not sure if the interviewer got inform me about it or not cause that time like can't focus much during the end of interview.. so damn tiring some more..
Hey Pandasukasusu! thank you for the advice and tips.
However i have a few questions to ask and if anyone have any experience on this please advice..
first of all let me tell u guys that im a Nlevel holder(5 passes),NS as a firefighter.
my SA lasted from 830am till 430pm and it includes the panel interview( WO from SPF, Major from Singapore Prison and the third guy wearing civillian, dont know from where)
What kept me thinking is that during my panel interview, the 3 officers did not mentioned about my qualification or anything about my studies!! Most of the questions asked was about my Personal Training experience as im a certified internationally as a certified personal trainer. however i did told the pregnant lady who collected documents that im currently studying part time higher nitec and completing in march next year..so im wondering why they ask so much about my personal training experience as a trainer with fitness first??
Hi iszilliana, I thought no one here is with me . I'm same as you . I've private diploma cert . During first SA, they mentioned to me that my private cert doesn't recognize so they used my 5 passes N levels as well . I understand from them is you have to serve 3 years non renewable contract with them in SOC , and get your certificate . Another way I guess is since you are only in first SA, process will take up to 6 months or less for you , when you graduate in March , you can send them your cert and being a normal JPO . I guess why they asked for cert is because in SOC, fitness must be up there . Hope it helps !
Hi Iszillian, the reason they ask you about your fitness is that being a police officer we are require to be in excellent physical condition at all times. For more info you can go youtube and watch spf soc training. During my interview they also never asked about my qualification and both interviewers are wearing civillian.
Hi Dant, they never ask about my fitness and qualification though. Is it consider good or bad news?. Do keep us update of your time line. All the best to us!! Cheers!.
Hi dreframe ,
They asked about myself, and my family background.
They ask y I left nursing, why went join spf. Job scope of npco.
On top of that, sec interview also asked for 3strengths,3weaknesses.
They asked about Physical fitness also for sec interview. One of e female interviewer told me physical fitness is a must if u want promotion in e force.

Hey Dollyfantasylove! I was from Nursing too. Hahah. I studied Nursing and I just recently graduated early this year but that does not hinder me from being accepted in the force.
Just a few tips for those who have yet to go for the interview: Show your eagerness and support with strong points on why you are really interested to join the force. If possible, give examples. As for me, I relate my course of study in terms of communicating and helping people. Do some research on the force as sometimes they will ask you some questions regarding the force. Those who have background of UG CCA back then in Sec Sch can also use that. It really helps a lot. Tell them how you have contributed to the society. Good luck to all!

PS: those worrying about being overweight; I think it shouldn't be an issue as my BMI is high as well. If I'm given a chance, so will you.
Hi Guys, anyone transferring of service within MHA to the SPF?
Pls share if you are in the same boat as me.
Thank you.
Congratulations to you NandyDevi! i went for health screening on the same day as you on the 29th Aug....so far my status still in process and waiting for their call...
I just received an email from them 2 hours ago.
They asked for a full body-length photo in formal attire.
Anyone else got the same request?
Hi bro Sleekstyler, by any chance your BMI is higher than 23?
No bro, it's 21.2... haha..
HiSleekstyler it is normal they ask for ur full body pix this is bec for too skinny or too chubby applicants. They would like to see how they look like in uniform as spf need to take care of the image in public. Dun worry if u look ok nt too skinny they shall call u soon...
