The last time i went, i stayed at Ambassador hotel for S$50 a nite.
The venue's pretty good as it's just abt 2 mins walk to the train station and i think 2 train stops from siam square. But the hotel's pretty old and the guests are mainly from middle east. -

heard PP is also good but haven't stayed thr before. it is Just next to MBK, the giant mall. But think PP is not v cheap also...
