No, the link is written by someone else. read carefully.

Erm pinknutri I found this today when i check my com. I saved this webpage lastime as favourites lastime when i was a buddhist that time.

If u think that's a wrong thing I will take that webpage link away.

The sun revolving the earth was a theory that was accepted by the people living thousands of years ago, even authors of Buddhist scriptures.
When the theory was proven wrong by Copernicus and Galileo, it was then revealed that the authors of Buddhist scriptures plagiarised other people's work.
The Dalai Lama then decided that science should be taught to Tibetan monks and nuns.
That is what the article is trying to convey. It was written by a Buddhist anyway. If you don't find the article appealing to you, then don't believe. It's perfectly alright.

It is not a matter of like or don't like. It is misleading and untrue. I'm just trying to clarify.

That is your assumption that authors of Buddhist scriptures believed in sun revolving the earth. The scriptures are more on six path reincarnation so I don't think they were interested in earth movement.

Dun quarrel with gogomuck. This topic getting out of point.

That's your assumption that buddhists are not interested in earth movement or science but there are some Buddhists who believe that modern science is "catching up" with Buddha's teachings, but is it?
The Buddha taught that there are innumerable beings in the universe. Now Some people are buying into the conspiracy theories of extra-trerrestrial life.
The big bang theory and the pseudoscience theory of evolution are two more theories that some buddhists believed to be compatible with the teachings of Buddha.
Science is catching up with Buddhism............these are thefew i can think of off hand.......
the Buddha talked about other planets, galaxies and even multiple universes............scientists now talk about multi-verses
plus he told his disciples about countless life in a cup of water...............bacteria, etc
others include scientists now saying the universe is just a hologram and there's no physical reality.................the ''illusion'' and ''emptiness'' much talked about in Buddhism
for more, must ask those Buddhism experts in the other forum...............

After saying so much, where is Buddha's theory on earth movement ? I have heard and read of the above which you mentioned but never Buddha's theory on earth movement.

You challenge the Dalai Lama or Lobsang Dhondup lah.
Excerpts from the article:
"Buddhism turns modern Judeo-Christian ideas on their heads. In Buddhism, experience and reasoning come first, and then scripture. As we wandered down the path of broken rock fragments, Dhondup told me that when he encounters something that disagrees with his beliefs, he tests the new idea with logical evidence and approaches, and then if it holds up, he accepts it. This is what the Dalai Lama means when he says that if modern science presents good evidence that a Buddhist idea is wrong, he will accept the modern science (he gives the example of the Earth moving around the sun, which runs counter to Buddhist scripture)."

The above is not written by Dalai Lama himself. Someone quoted him. Nowadays, many people like to put words into other people's mouth. So, hard to believe unless you can tell me which Buddhist scripture talk about earth movement. Just name it and the truth will be out. I will give up arguing if you can tell me which scripture and I will see it for myself.

Ancient Buddhists believed Mount Meru to be the centre of physical and spiritual universe. They also thought that the earth was flat.
Excerpt from another article on Buddhism:
"Donald Lopez, a professor of Buddhist and Tibetan studies at the University of Michigan, provides an illuminating account of this culture clash in his book Buddhism and Science: A Guide for the Perplexed (University of Chicago Press, 2008). Conservative Buddhists rejected the round world theory. They believed the historical Buddha had perfect knowledge, and if the historical Buddha believed in the Mount Meru cosmos, then it must be true."
"Professor Lopez writes that the Mount Meru controversy didn't reach isolated Tibet until the 20th century. A Tibetan scholar named Gendun Chopel spent the years 1936 to 1943 traveling in south Asia, soaking up the modern view of the cosmos that by then was accepted even in conservative monasteries. In 1938 Gendun Chopel sent an article to the Tibet Mirror informing his country persons that the world is round.
The current Dalai Lama, who has flown about the round world several times, seems to have put an end to flat earthism among Tibetans by saying the historical Buddha was wrong about the shape of the earth." - (source: About.com:Buddhism)
Since you are so skeptical, don't believe anything. Buddha preached that too.

Now only those who accepted Jesus as saviour are saved.
This is my view point.
Its absolutely correct..... According to the old testament, agreed that Mousils are the heirs of Abraham (Thru Ismael)... After the brith and resurrection of Christ... The one who believed christ as his savior and away from the sin shall be perished with the eternal life...
Mousils cannot enter the kingdom of god by only believeing that they are from Abraham's Family....

My friend had asked her master, her master said he had never heard of it. Her master also asked which scripture. Just name the scripture and the truth will be out. What you said above is believed by Tibetans Buddhists or it is being taught by Buddha himself. If is by Buddha himself, which scripture ? So far, have only heard Science is proving Buddha correct and never heard Science is proving Buddha wrong.
aiyah........please lah.........
if the Buddha was already talking about other solar systems, galaxies and multiple universes................(things we only know recently)
you think the Buddha don't know the Earth is round meh ??

I know what I've read.....hehehehe
When did Buddha ever write scriptures? Buddhist scriptures were written by men not inspired by a God. They plagiarised many wrong theories.
Heard of the saying "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones"?

Buddhist scriptures were not written by Buddha just like Bible which was not written by God. Buddhist scriptures were written by Buddha's disciples who recorded down the words of Buddha just like Bible which were the words of God. Wrong theories ? Which wrong theories and from which scriptures ? Am I feeding the troll ?

"We now know that the Buddha was not born in 1030 B.C.E., that the earth is not flat, and that the sun and moon do not revolve round Mount Meru." - Urgyen Sangharakshita, Buddhism Without Beliefs.
Don't you ever give up?!
