the god in the first testament and the second testament are like 2 different entities eh. the god in the first testament were portrayed as vengeful, spiteful, always angry and indignant whereas the god in the second testament was like merciful, compassionate and kind.
maybe god is suffering from some split personality. the god in first testament told its followers to kill non believers if they do not convert, whereas the god in second testament told its followers to love your enemies.

there are times God was nice in the old testament. Jesus was sent down to become man to reach out to people.

If you compare God in the abrahamic religions and human, you can find alot of similarities.

of cos. you wont see Buddha or the arhats angry and agitated right? enlightened beings see things as they truly are. they have rid of themselves of emotions like anger, craving, desire and ignorance.
have you heard or read that the Buddha was angry or petty after his enlightenment lol.

I'm not religious nor atheist, but I believe if there was such a supernatural being he/she had given up on us long ago and religions are man-made to justify actions like claiming one group is superior to other groups. I don't think anyone share my beliefs in here...

let me enlighten you on the origination of religions, how they came about? one word, fear. fear of what? fear of the unknown and supernatural. early men doesnt understand thunder, 4 seasons, rain and lightning, so they thought they must be a god. have you heard of sun god, moon god, tree god, forest god, thunder god etc. have you heard of sacrifices of animals and even human beings to a god or devil? they practise sacrifices because they want to appease the god/devil and also want them to protect and blessed them. why people pray to god? cos they want to strike 4-D, TOTO, want to gain promotion, blessed with luck etc etc. you see chinese people go to temple with chicken, duck, orange, apple to offer at the altar of their idols isnt it.
