Shared belief in the "Golden Rule"
(a/k.a. Ethics of Reciprocity) -
all I can say is this. they are entitled to their own faith teachings. it is not the truth and representing reality, as far as I am concerned. they are free to believe as long as they dun go around telling people you are going to hell and that your religion is satanic. I doubt this can be done although I hope it can.

the question is this. is mankind better off without a religion, or vice versa?
I dun have all the answers, but all I can say is this. if it lead to war, bloodshed, hatred, extremism and fundamentalism, then whats the use of having a religion? a religion is supposedly teach and educate people to be good, do good and be tolerant towards other faiths and races.

it is better to preach on the "ETHICS OF RECIPROCITY" than to preach about one's God(s) at the expense of other God(s).

the issue is this. Other religions also have their own views on being the truth, which religion do you reckoned is the true among all the many religions in the world.

so the best is the golden rule of thumb respect all religions as you would to your own...
that is the epitome of religious tolerance...and side to this also tolerance to other points of views on any threads in the Sg Forum as well..

the cause of religious disharmony is the ideology of superiority. my religion is true and all others are false. same as racism, superiority of one race over all other races, or the misconceived concept that a certain race is inferior.

oh is it am i wrong that Confucius (551 BCE – 479 BCE) didn't say that? perhaps it was paraphased but the concept goes well before Jesus said it. (Analects 15:23) but this was also well known in other religious sayings as well ...wonder if you know what BCE means....Confucius was born before Jesus...
