i am not responding jgho to pick a fight.... but in many cases, many of such queries will inevitably lead to a flame war purely because the answers we give are NOT the answers that these folks are looking for.

yes you can... say this about anyone.
which is why i (also) say that it is pointless to argue about such issues....
i have given my answers to jgho..... if it does not totally satisfy his thirst for knowledge....
well.... "live long and prosper".... or "good luck"...

true
so why bother emphasising the exasperations of christians when non christians are fed up with avoidance, lack of integrity during discussions and at the end, blaming non christians by christians?

I am not here to pick a fight. I saw this thread, I came in here, I post my own questions. I got replies. This is what I want. And the answers are more or less expected too.
exactly...cos our answers r from the Holy Spirit who guides n leads us to the knowledge of God...ppl without the Holy Spirit can onli try to understand using human logic...even we explain to them, they may not be able to understand since theres no guiding from the Holy Spirit...
for eg...many non-christians cannot understand y christians n non-christians cannot be tgr as a couple...but i have personally witnessed christians who couldnt understand when they were still non-believers but they understood fully once they became christians...how is tat humanly possible? well it wasnt human tat convicted them...we christians noe tat...
my post above is replying to chin eng...

this is expected, anyone who cant answer your questions will tend to resort to questioning your intelligence, your personal character as well as comparing you with an imagined perfect being
*shrugs*

any issue you have with dumb2 is really none of my business.....
if i am am emphasizing the exasperation of christians it is because of the context of this forum - Eternal Hope....

what issue?
exasperation is the same, what context?
its like, i am angry that the old lady blocked my way when i want to cross the road, and the pesky kids ''tsk'' me when they want to ride past me with their bikes
to jgho...
now u see wad chin eng n i meant? if i continue to reply laurence, it wil end up in a fight...u can see alredi tat a fight is looming n trust me, after tis post, laurence wil still continue to rebutt me...unless he purposely dun do it cos i alredi said so...

actually the reverse is also true. go ask a evolutionist as to how the world come about and it is likely that you'd get a relatively similar answer.
so the reality is.... our reactions are all the same. we will give the answer as honest as we think we are giving.
you think its a fight..thats negative..why do you want to think so negatively?
i am more for getting it straight out, whether or not it displeases you or disagree with your personal agenda

been there, done that.... bye.... for the day.
see wad i mean? laurence juz did wad i said he would...sigh...(close shop for the day)...
i think when you faces failure to respond to an issue and it comes to a deadlock, stand up and say í have no answers
it irks me when people choose the easiest way out thinking negatively that its a fight, this chap comes round to sully my reputation etc
pls look beyond 'self' and you might have different paradigms of whats happening here
ah well. wad did i just said in my first few posts..?
i think i should be a fortune teller

lol, and if they're looking for a fight, for some reason, they always end up talking to me.
y?

hmm. correct me if i am wrong, but what i feel is that, if a person is out looking for a fight, his goal is simply to get the answer "i have no answer" to their questions.
because they aren't looking to get a win. they don't need to. all they need is to know that you don't know the answer, to affirm their own position.
if you say that God exist, they don't need to prove that God don't exist, they only need to get you to admit that you don't know if God really exist.
that's why it's not so easy to just say "i don't know the answer", even if it irks you. =)
correct
the answer is you dont have answers, just like most people here
unfortunately, most believers dont seem to get this
if i know i had, i'll open my own church and earn some moolah

i got one word reply
ksmlj??

hmm. ok, to put it simply, i find it hard to say "i can't provide you the answer", because i see it as losing the conversation. because every religious discussion or debate usually ends up with christians having to prove something.
"if you say God exist, prove it.", "if you say that homosexuality is bad for the society, prove it", "if you say we're going to hell, prove it".
the burden of proof usually falls on the chrsitian's shoulder, to say that he doesn't know the answer, or if he is unable to produce sufficient evidence, is as good as saying that the non believer is right, because of inductive reasoning.
if i am looking for a fight, i don't have the burden to prove anything. i'll feel good just knowing that you can't give me an answer, and use that as an angle to prove my point.
