can i let the Bible talk to you ..your tryin to put us under lawOriginally posted by breytonhartge:and so you are saying that the law is abolished? which verse?
I think we have been telling Brey this all the time....Originally posted by Chin Eng:It is very clear in the NT, in the Pauline letters, that the Gentiles are not subjected to the laws of the Jews. In fact, Paul goes as far as to scold the Jewish leaders who insist on putting on the heavy bonds Jewish laws onto the Gentile believers, and these Jewish laws are not easy, even for the Jews.
by sounding condescending, he is hoping to make brey flip i guess. once u get angry, the debate is half lost. not that i am siding with brey lah.. in fact i think i am more convinced with the arguements brought up by laoda, CE and vince.Originally posted by Icemoon:Jamison .. you are very rude. How can you call Brey dear boy?![]()

by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace (eph. 2:15)Originally posted by SocialOutcast:A few questions:
When Jesus said 'follow my commandments', does he also include cultural traditions like participating in Passover, not eating pork etc? And shall we continue to sacrifice animals for forgiveness of sins?
And if one insists in calling Jesus 'Yeshua' only, do you also read the bible only in Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek?
P.S: I believe there is no biblical support that the law is abolished (unless proof is given) I think what Paul means by 'not under law' is that we are not judged by the law. It does not mean that we don't have to follow it.
I'm not sure .. but brey comes from the name of the BMW tuner.Originally posted by Jamison:sorry to brey...your name sounds male.
Jameson, Breyton is said the Jesus said: 'if you love Me keep My commandments' Jesus is said not 'if you love Me keep Moses commandments' Jesus is said: If you lvoe Me keep My commandments alright?Originally posted by Jamison:by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace (eph. 2:15)
having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. (Col. 2:14)
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! (Rom. 6:15)
What does 'not under law but under grace mean'? So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God (rom.7:4)
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)
not under Moses. under Christ. "in order that we might bear fruit to God." But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.

The Jesus is saying to the apostles in this Bible to the apostles. But Look Jameson the Jesus is said IN THEIR LAW. Why the Jesus is said not in your Law Jameson? Why the apostles not now in the Law? Look i copy "But that the Word might be fulfilled that is written IN THEIR LAW, "They hated Me without a cause." do you look at the meaning Jameson? in their law because MY commandments of Jesus is now the comand Jameson. in their law Jameson is the commandments of Moses Jeameson.
that is the because the teacher Paul is said i copy:
1Co 9:20 And to the Jews I was as a Jew, so that I might give the good news to them; TO THOSE UNDER THE LAW I was the same, NOT AS BEING MYSELF UNDER THE LAW, but so that I might give the good news TO THOSE UNDER THE LAW.
21 To those without the law I was as one without the law, NOT AS BEING WITHOUT LAW TO GOD, BUT AS UNDER LAW TO CHRIST, so that I might give the good news to those without the law.
