Madness starts this Friday on Singapore Apple Store online
Apple has included Singapore in the first round of sale globally and you will be able to pre-order the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from Apple Store Singapore starting on 12 September 2014. Both new smartphones will come in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options and available in Silver, Gold and Space Grey colors.
The new 4.7″ iPhone 6 will retail starting from S$988 while the larger 5.5″ iPhone 6 Plus at S$1,198 without telco contracts. Below are the breakdown of the prices and storage sizes:

M1 suspends iPhone 6 pre-orders after security breach
M1 has reported a potential security breach on its website and has suspended pre-orders of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus while it investigates.
It announced this on a Facebook post at about 7.30pm on Monday.
“As a precaution to protect our customers’ personal information, we will be temporarily suspending pre-orders while we urgently investigate this issue,” the post read.
Reports said the telco suspended pre-orders after a hacker had accessed its website by mistake, and reported the breach to the company.
This comes at a time when Apple on Monday said it had received record pre-orders for its new iPhone models, AFP reported.
The California tech giant said that some customers will have to wait for the larger-screen versions of the smartphones.
Four million pre-orders
More than four million pre-orders were received in the 24 hours after the new devices went on sale last Friday.
Sales are set to open at 8am local time on Friday (Sept 19) in Singapore, the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, and Britain.
Some 20 more countries will get the iPhone on Sept 26.

SINGAPORE — M1 has resumed taking online pre-orders for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 smartphone as of 7.15am this morning (Sep 16).
The telco stopped taking pre-orders for about 12 hours after a potential security loophole was discovered by a user.
The telco stated on its Facebook page that “the potential security breach has been rectified” and that they were once more accepting pre-orders for the new iPhone models.
In a Facebook post yesterday, M1 said: “As a precaution to protect our customers’ personal information, we will be temporarily suspending pre-orders while we urgently investigate this issue,”
Channel NewsAsia reported that a member of the public had come forward to say that he had discovered a security loophole at around 9pm on Sunday while trying to order a new iPhone.
Screengrabs and video obtained by Channel NewsAsia appear to show that he was able to access personal data such as phone numbers, NRIC numbers and home addresses, using a cookie modifier plug-in on Google Chrome.
The man, who described himself as a computer science masters student, said that he had tried to alert M1 to the purported loophole by posting on its Facebook wall, but said he had been asked to fill in a customer feedback form instead.
Speaking to Channel NewsAsia, an M1 spokesperson confirmed that they would not be taking any action against the customer as they appreciate that he took the time to inform them of the issue, and that a full review would be conducted on the incident.

12 customers' personal information accessed during M1 security breach
Personal information of 12 customers was accessed during the recent M1 security breach, the telco said in a statement on Wednesday.
The information accessed included names and addresses, but not credit card or bank account details. The company is in the process of contacting those affected.
M1 said preliminary findings of its investigation into Monday's incident indicate that there was a flaw in the customer authentication mechanism on its website​.
"A security flaw existed in the design of an application programming interface in the customer authentication mechanism of our website. By changing data stored within a website 'cookie', this allows possible access to another customer’s personal information," it said.
A security patch which rectifies the flaw has since been deployed, the telco said. Only one case of unauthorised access has been detected so far, it added.
The security breach resulted in pre-orders for the new Apple iPhones on its website being suspended by the company for about 12 hours.
The Straits Times reported that it was a customer who had alerted M1 to the potential breach of security on Sunday night after hacking into the website by mistake.
M1 said it will be implementing further measures to protect customer data and privacy.

Hands up, how many of you have had your iPhone stolen?
Don't worry too much about that happening with your new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
Apple has made sure its new devices come with Activation Lock on by default, reports Forbes.
Activation Lock is Apple's "kill switch" feature - an Apple ID and password are required to turn off the Find My iPhone feature, sign out of iCloud, and to completely erase and reactivate the phone.
Although the Activation Lock feature was introduced with iOS 7 a year ago, it was an opt-in feature, which meant many users still did not make use of it to secure their phones.
With the feature now on by default, smartphone thieves are likely to stay away, since the phone will be useless to them.
