StarHub to offer clearer calls over 4G network next year

StarHub will offer Voice over Long Term Evolution(VoLTE) services next year promising clearer calls for its 4G users.
VoLTE enables customers to make high-definition(HD) voice calls over a 4G network by allowing more speech information sent at broader frequency range and over twice the bandwidth as compared to standard voice calls. This results in natural-sounding and significantly clearer phone conversations with reduced background noise, StarHub said.
The company currently provides HD voice calls over 3G. Each time a StarHub 4G user answers the phone, he switches to a 3G network for HD calls. But with the 4G VoLTE, he can answer a HD call and simultaneously check the Internet at 4G speeds should he need to.
Major mobile handset manufacturers will roll out more phones that support 4G VoLTE next year, StarHub said, The telco is believed to be the first in South-east Asia to make such a phone call. VoLTE has already been used in South Korea and the United States. StarHub currently has over 440,000 4G subscribers and islandwide coverage for its 4G networks.

Starhub? Forget it. They are known to be providing lousy coverage. I can't think of any service they provide excellent service. Their cable TV quality also sucks!
