M1 termination?

Hi my phone's contract is supposed to expire on Nov 2013 but i wanna terminate it now and switch to singtel and get a new phone at the same time. i called the thing and the automated guy say must pay $200 or $300 on top of handset price? So what does that mean? LOL

It means you need to pay 300 on top of the new handset price because your contract has not expired and is hence considered an upgrade.

Uncle, when you sign plan to buy an expensive phone at a cheap price, you think its really a bargain?
If it is a bargain, all our telcos can close shop already. Ah beng phone shop also can close down and don't open already, because no idiots will buy from them?

your contact is 2 years. so you're still under contract and hence still under their control, which is why they can make you pay... if you're totally out of contract, then you're a free person, they will beg you to sign contract with them instead of competitors, that's why they offer better carrots in front of you.

If you want to terminate your M1 contract just because M1 had a lousy connection for the past 3 days.

there will be early termination penalty... depending on what contract u sign... high end/low end..... you call and ask and they are telling you about the upgrade penalty instead..

I think you should have figured that discount part before you signed the plan.
Terminating a contract to get a new phone? It means you're really the type who thinks telcos really sell you a $1000 phone for $250.

Seriously, I think you shd switch provider because M1 track record is deteriorating... didn't improve after the being fined the last time and this recent happening is worse than the previous. I have mobile lines and home internet all under M1 and they brushed me off when I called 1622. No one from my family was able to contact each other and we were totally excommunicated from the rest of the world. Just too much risk to put all our perks on one place. I am totally switching at least 2 mobile lines away from them..
