Hey! has anyone bought the HTC One X and is currently using it in Singapore? I would like to hear your reviews on the phone's battery life, camera functions and google apps. I read on the internet some good and bad reviews on the phone. So help me out here aiites? Thanks!
The HTC one X ..
Well, iirc it's running on a quad core snapdragon s4 processor - one of the first quad core android phones. (The Galaxy S2 in comparison is dual core)
While I don't have the One x, I'm currently using it's sister that's available in Singapore - the Htc One V.
Pardon the fonts will post what I wrote in a post on G+
It has a single core processor (from the processor data sheet it is most probably underclocked from 1.2ghz to 1ghz). A very nice aluminium unibody industrial feel to it too - feels like a brick
What I do like about this phone is its 5mp camera.. Very quick app start up with no delays what so ever like the initializing messages (1 sec) - Thanks to htc image sense. Htc image sense is avaiable on all HTC one devices and is the software and an independent graphics chip that processes the images and colours of the photographs
Very quick snapping of photos (no shuttle delay). It suits me quite well that I can just whip up my phone, press the camera app and quickly snap an image the first time - Knowing so well that there are no blurred images or images that are not taken properly due to me quickly whipping it back into my pocket before the shuttle actually snaps a pic - all thanks to it's F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens.
I dare say the camera is best in it's class. (5mp shooters) - definitely great for microbloggers
Now I will not be biased to say it's the perfect phone.
It isn't. What in the hell were HTC thinking about having an inbuilt battery? - and the battery management software switches the phone off at 10% (Yea I do understand - switching off the device at a certain state of charge to prevent over discharging of the battery) - the problem could be solved best if it could first switch off wifi, then dim the screen to its lowest before giving a warning to turn off the phone.
I was pleasantly surprised that I am still able to switch it on after it switches off automatically and it's battery life from 10% to 0% lasted me 2 additional hours with constant texting.
This is an example of a macro image taken without any photo editing on the HTC one V
Oh glad this topic is here.
Just want to ask the price range of the HTC One series (One S/ One X)
so anyone know?
Hi Kenn3th,
Thanks for the great review! it has given us some insight on the previous model. Anyhow, I thought that the phone's camera has a totalof 8mp.
Also, may I know what that picture is? Cos I don't quite see a correlation with the topic we are discussing here. Maybe you'd like to elaborate a little further.
Hi I.imba,
Thelast I checked with M1 is that the price is $318 on the M1 Litesurf plan. but I would think that the price range of this phone would drop subsequently in the following weeks.
Hope to hear from you guys soon!
Cheers,
