Elderly-friendly mobile phone with SOS features

  SINGAPORE: A mobile phone which will come in handy when an elderly person faces an emergency situation has been launched in Singapore.

  Apart from elderly-friendly features such as a larger display screen and keypad, the phone has an emergency SOS button.

  Foresight Technologies, the phone's developer, said pressing the button will release a loud siren and alert the people nearby for help.
  
  At the same time, it will activate an emergency call and text message to five designated mobile numbers in its pre-programmed list.
  
  These designated recipients will receive information on the location of the phone owner.
  
  The phone is priced at S$138, bundled with a free StarHub pre-paid SIM card.
  
  One hundred sets of the phone will be donated to the elderly at a National Day dinner organised by the Kreta Ayer Seniors Activity Centre tomorrow.

  hmmm... wat if button pressed on accident?

  Mis-use etc etc???

   

  For example call bells in hospital are used to alert nurse... but some ppl spam on it for no reason...

  it is a SOS button for fixed line phone.... hp... never heard of lei... (not yet)..

  i reckon modile phone with bigger numbers and screen do help...

  (will be getting for my parents soooooon)....

  Nice... my mom always complain she doesnt know how to use mobile phone.. this elderly friendly ones should do

  eh.... tot this was released like 2 years ago......

  i wanted to go grab it at PC show one

  i tink it was $79 or $89 oni, no contract

  The 1st one looks like calculator and the 2nd one looks a bit like a TV remote control

  the first one got sos button behind the phone...

  i know coz i know someone using tat phone...

  comes in white, black and gold one leh...

  Its only linked to 5 designated numbers, so no worries about mis use. Unless you link it to ahem numbers of course.
