Regarding Blackberry

  Hey folks, I just recently got a new phone which is blackberry bold 9700. I've come with some queries and I hope that the community here can offer some help.
  
  Question 1 : I have windows live messenger downloaded but when i tried to sign in it says, "service not enabled on this handheld." How do i enable it? ( I need this answer because I signed up for the data service plan just for msn and bbm =/ )
  
  Question 2 : I have not "activated" my account because I haven't set up an email account on my blackberry because it requires a adminstration password or an activation password which I don't have it. Where can i get the activation password?
  
  Question 3 : How can i get bbm ( blackberry messenger )  to start working? I have my pin already. Im just worried that it isn't working because i haven't "activated" my blackberry.
  
  Im sorry if my question sounds misleading or have I posted in the wrong section. I hope I can get some help here. Thanks in advance
  
  Note : I have signed up for the singtel iOne plus plan and I have a 1gig blackberry service data plan. ( If these info helped )

  Whats APN? Can you elaborate more on that please? Its really vexxing to know that ive signed up for the data service plan but i cant even use msn or bbm with it. And regarding the link..i cant seem to find any download button o.o ?

  access point network

  go to options > advanced options > TCP/IP

  APN setting enabled (check)

  APN : e-ideas

  APN authentication enabled (check)

  username : 65IDEAS

  password : IDEAS

  don't use the link from the blackberry site, it will tell u that the version can't be used.

   

  or use google and search for "blackberry windows live messenger"

  Kopi ~ Thanks for your replies. I haven't tried the APN thingy yet because I wanted to ask something more before i do.

  because u sign up with singtel.

  singtel say put these settings.

  where did i find out? i used google, i go to singtel website, i got the pdf file

  u want to ask so much yet u dun use google or wiki.

  after doing it, go switch off and on your mobile network.

  to be really sure u can try soft rebooting

  Soft Reset
  Press ALT + RIGHT SHIFT(CAP) + DELETE.

  btw the plan u sign up for is only applicable for email/Instant messaging and WAP data services via IDEAS only

  instant messaging is not windows live messenger, u need data plan for that

  its blackberry instant messenger.

  The data plan i have can't be used for windows live messenger? what do you mean? Isn't the 1 gig service data plan used for windows live messenger and bbm? ahh >< so confused.

  windows live messenger uses the regular data plan

  the blackberry plan u signed up for will give u

  1) push mail services

  2) chatting with your friends with who have bb also via the bbm

  3) surfing internet via IDEAS (regular surfing with the browser)

  to register your bb and fully utilise the push mail service

  No need sign up data plan. The blackberry services 1GB is already your data plan. Everything is applicable using the blackberry services, be it windows live, BBM or facebook. I too had this problem when I initially signed up for the plan. It takes time to activate the services. Just call up Singtel and you must remember to create an account at http://www.singtel.blackberry.com/.

  paiseh ah, my blackberry plan is thailand one. i use, no have problem, i do all the settings also no problem.

  so that means TS just keep asking questions but never do anything

  ok, clarified from singtel call centre

  1gig plan cannot surf internet

  purely for blackberry services only
