Whenever i buy a new phone
the retailers tell me to charge the phone for 8 hours
what's the point of charging for 8 hours?
should i let the battery die first before i charge the phone?
I heard that by doing so, it can prolong the life of the battery. Not sure if it's true but I just follow la..no harm.
actually just charge to when the indicator states that battery full can oreadi..
1st charge important.. last time i nv listen.. battary easily spoil..
like suddeny 3 bar 2 mins later 2 bar then suddenly 3 bar again
for nokia's batteries hor, i notice that if you don let the battery die first before you charge it, it will die faster.
i mean not the first time when you bought the phone.
example like say if you still got 6 bars left and you think it wont last you throughout the day and you decide to charge it to full or you overcharged it( meaning the battery is already full but you forgot to unplug it from the charger), & you keep doing this regularly, sooner or later, you will find that your battery life actually gets shorter.
a few of my friends using nokia also say the same thing.
donno for others.
and when the battery got so bad, that the back part of it surface up, you will find that whenever you make a phone call, or recieving one, the battery will shut the phone off in 2-3mins.
those were my experiences in the past, when non-colour phone are still popular.
nowadays, batteries don really shut phone off but will die off faster than when it's first bought.
when you just bought, maybe it can last 6-8hrs, but after bad timing of charging, it becomes 4-5hrs.
My friend bought a new phone like 2 days ago and the salesmen still say "Charge 8 hours first hor".

oh is it?
i din know the same thing will actually happen to cams and electrical devices, not much interaction with those stuffs.
my PSP doesnt seems to have this problem though. or maybe it has, but it's not so serious.
that's why nowadays i tried to finish as much battery life as i can before i charge my N73 ME.
those Lithium-ion batteries are supposed to have no memory effect so in a way they are not supposed to require charging of prolong period piror to usage.. but stand to be corrected..

If your devices are working fine.....then so be it. Live life the way it should be.
I heard for some hp chargers that once charging is complete, the charging automatically stops. Is that true?
guess so..
but dunno if its really true or not lah..
