A STOMPer was
angry when she received a phone she ordered from the Singtel online
store. The phone, according to her, appeared used and its box had been
sealed three times.
The STOMPer wonders if this phone had been used and rejected by other customers previously.
She was further aggitated when calls to customer service did
little to help, and a scheduled time for exchange was also not followed
through.
She says in an e-mail dated September 15:
"I re-contracted my line & bought G900 from Singtel Online Shop, delivery was send to me on Fri 12 Sep 08.
"To my horror when i open up the box the Sony Ericsson logo at the back
of the phone was half hanging out and light scratches were seen on the
top part of the phone
"Upon closer inspection, the box had a triple seal… so does it means it’s a rejected item?
"I called up Singtel and finally spoke to the customer service officer
who told me he is unsure and offered to check and called me back
tomorrow.
"Who would need one whole day to check? I demanded immediate attention and he said he would call back ASAP.
"When he called back he said he couldn’t do anything as their online shop does not operate past office hours and weekends.
"Not satisfied with the answer, I called back again and another CSO
answered and after a long negotiation, offered to schedule for delivery
to exchange the phone on Tuesday.
"Stuck with an old phone, I asked for the earliest possible schedule
then he suggested the exchange to be on Monday, 15 Sep 08, 6.30pm.
"Now is already way past the time of the scheduled delivery but my phone is still not here.
"Called up 1626 again and their answer was that they’re unable to trace the record and they will call back tomorrow.
"What’s wrong with Singtel and their customer services? They expect consumers to keep chasing them for further actions!
"And their quality product! What’s the triple seal and Singtel logo for? The warranty card wasn’t even stamped.
"People shopping online should really be more aware of their product!"
