bring it to a Swatch store to have the staff adjust for you, most of them are pretty well trained to do this, altho some aren't as deft as we'd like em to beOriginally posted by the_don:p/s: i would not recommand this watch to any gal cos it is too difficult to shorten to fit a S or M size gal's wrist.

Aulf, here's the 5508 was talking about - pardon the tacky URL. Current asking price for a 1958 model in good condition is about US$5000. Personally, I'd rather spend S$6600 on a new Sea Dweller.Originally posted by Aulf:In that case .. think I'll save up for a Rolex ... the Submariner is a tad bit 2 chunky for me ... perhaps the Yachtmaster or the classic silver Rolex Oyster
Thanx ... the submariner is a timeless beauty and a fantastic watch ... check out the ltd edition green bezel one as well ..Originally posted by Gedanken:Aulf, here's the 5508 was talking about - pardon the tacky URL. The Yachtmaster looks too TAG-like IMHO. For an all stainless steel Oyster, may I suggest an all-steel datejust Oyster with the polished (not fluted) bezel like this 16200 below:
That's not a monochrome photo, by the way - the dial is grey. Fluted bezels make the watch a bit hard to match with different dressing styles, so the smooth one is better in that sense. Of all of the marking styles on the dial, I like the Roman numerals best.
Reminds me of Rado.Originally posted by the Bear:found a pic of the watch i was looking for

Yes i know that. I just think it reminds me of Rado.Originally posted by :Its a Movado
Yeah its very similar, some watch designers are known to 'copy' each other!Originally posted by Lingos:Yes i know that. I just think it reminds me of Rado.
The first time I saw that style of design was on the Rado Diastar, back in the early '80s.Originally posted by :Yeah its very similar, some watch designers are known to 'copy' each other!

[b]Ah, that's the 50th anniversary edition of the Submariner. Personally, as Submariners go, my favourite is still the 18K/SS with the blue face
Hour glass is a pretty good place but you have to know how much to bargain...Originally posted by Aulf:Recommend any place whr u can get good prices 4 new Rolex's ?
