Its BCM style. The deployers take turns for DDs and bendies on this service often. Rare to see service 857 deployed with bendies nowadays too.

How come A24 being transferred to SBST? LTA trying the use of Bendy buses for the Seletar bus package ah... I thot both SBST and LTA were against those buses?
But if SBST is really taking in MAN A24s for use at seletar, I think LTA should buy more A24s. Atleast 40-60 units to support CGA and feeder services for selected towns (more than just Woodlands/CCK.) 806 was defintiely doing better with bendy. I saw a few DD plying 806 before... lower deck so packed, upper deck sparsely populated.
I guess the MAN A24s in Seletar bus package can be used for the Yishun Feeders and CGA Service 24.
Should try out A24 on Route 298.

Why 298? A24s should be reserved for CGA services.
If CGA services uses bendies GA should get a small number of them as well. It depends on LTA right now.
I have a feeling LTA will buy more WAB artics. It makes no sense to have the new Yishun Interchange in 2019 having so many artic parking spaces and artic friendly berths just to award Seletar to SBST which has 0 native artics, and there are not enough A24's to go around (Woodlands feeders/intratowns and 184 still needing them and 176/188 hogging them for unknown reasons). By 2019, the O405G's in the non-Seletar Yishun services (854, 856 and much lesser extent 857) would have retired by then as well.

Yishun i think only less than 6 bendy lots.

Got 13 parking and 4 berths, if this image/plan is anything to go by: http://i.imgur.com/6rqIrrr.png

dun worry, they can easily convert the bendies parking lots into normal 12M and then some buses can park parallel in front of these lots..
or if there is space, they can do back to back parking on these bendies lot for those 12M buses..
Quite cramped for int with more than 21 svc
Will some svcs not go inside like the BP case?
Got a feeling 1-2 svc won’t terminating there.859 is one of the candidate.

Isn't 859 a loop service?
Come to think of it, 852 and 859 can be merged.

From what I observed from the o405 retirement, 854 was still using o405 while the other services are using A22 .
Am not surprised if 854 is getting all the retired o405g fleet.
Frankly speaking, I will strongly hope that the remaining old bendies (1148 onwards) from AMDEP go over to KJDEP for 184/300/302 fleet once Yishun services go over to Seletar. AMDEP doesn't really need the bendies anymore for their remaining services by then.
I really hate the way SMRT still mass deploy the NWAB bendies to 854 compare to most other WAB trunks that are using majority DDs. I will want SMRT to concentrate putting in more WAB DDs on 854 to replace every single old bendy especially during weekday peak hours.
But 1 good thing I notice about 854 fleet is that night time usually left with only WAB fleets running, all the NWAB bendies seems to operate on S-shifts only. For weekends, the DDs normally appear twice to 3x the number of NWAB bendies seen.
There are still several NWAB bendies running on Yishun feeders btw.

No. 61 stopped using bendies once SMRT got its DDs. Also then bendies were used as late as early 2016.

61 used to have several bendies in its fleet since Tibs takeover. But somewhere in 2012, the bendies were mass withdrawn from 61 and replaced with the SMB rigids just before it turned WAB. I think there were 2 bendies left on 61 then - TIB1131G and another one.
Even with the DDs entering 61 fleet, there are also not many DDs deployed on 61 till then.
859 was also another one that had all the bendies withdrawn and replace with SMB rigids just before it turned WAB in late 2012. Not sure if any bendies cameo 859 after that.

Yep exactly. All along I had the opinion that LTA wasn't supportive of the bendys and that those MAN A24s will stay out of the bus contract packages, besides the negotiated ones.
If LTA intended for the bendys to be used on CGA services, they would have put it on GAS Loyang contract too which has 34,36. That's why I feel that although 24 has a chance to use the MAN A24s, they might be more for the yishun feeders. Given the crafting of the Yishun contract and the services involved, LTA would have well-known that there would be no need for so many bendy lots if yishun feeders were shifting to DDs under the contract. I guess LTA still did force a tryout of DDs on 806 but maybe results were not too positive so bendys are transferred to SBST for use on yishun feeders.
So these A24 units will be painted lush green SGBUS Livery? I believe for seletar contract, only a portion is transferred from SMRT and LTA will still purchase some new units for SBST. Doesnt make sense for SMRT to transfer WAB bendy to SBST and deploy NWAB bendy on woodlands/CCK feeders. On the other hand, it also doesn't make sense for SBST to maintain such a small number of A24s at seletar.

Airport svc also cannot afford to have all svc with bendies,What about the parking berth?
If LTA still keen on bendies get the B8RLEA €6 version.

61 used to have mainly VO3X fleet. But ridership must have dropped a lot today.
While BBT to Ngee Ann is clearly a high demand section, Bugis to Ubi has 63 as an alternative.

the contract for north point city/new yishun integrated hub was called in Mid2013.. no BCM that time...but think LTA do know that most of the old bendies will be gone by 2019.
at that time, they already planned for 21 bendies lot for the temp interchange and reduce to 13 lots for the integrated hub... right now, we wont know whether the actual layout have been changed or not since it have been 4 years since tenders were called.
tender for seletar package was called in June 2016. that time no DDs on sv806... so you are saying that LTA now happy happy change the term after contract have been awarded and decided to transfer bendies to SBST for yishun feeders after 806 gotten DDs for around 3 months? the use of bendies for seletar package should have long been stated in the tenders... and most likely it will be for sv24.. (maybe 4-5 buses only)..
as for sv34/36, they did not get any A24 , as the previous transfer for loyang all involved SBST services and LTA is still in discussion with SMRT on the negotiated contract. (That why all the buses used are from BSEP and new purchases under LTA).
if need to buy more A24 for seletar contract, then what is LTA waiting for? have they placed order for new A24 since the contract are starting in 5 months time.. and why doesnt it make sense to maintain 3-5 A24 at seletar? since SBST will also use A22, which ppl are saying that they used the same engine/parts..

the Northpoint City contract was awarded in 2013, to allow double deckers, 2-3 bendy lots for Yishun feeders.
They already planned more than enough bendy lots in the temporary interchange to allow the ban of double deckers to still in enforce until AMK Depot removes height restriction as this is the only bus depot to do so. By the time we have the new bus interchange, we can just have 2-3 bendy bus lots. other 10 bendy bus lots as mentioned earlier is not needed and can park more buses.
All the bendy buses will be gone with lifespan. perhaps without extension, by then all the packages will be tendered out in consolidation.

I think the contract would have indicated that the winner has to operate A24s as part of the package but may not have specified on which services. As long as there are A24s to be maintained, it would probably make more economic sense to maintain a fleet of atleast 15-20. Although A22 and A24 may have similar builder, there are surely parts that are different. Most obvious is the articulator.
I believe the DDs on 806 was a real test to see how the DDs fair on the yishun feeders. If not, why did LTA not choose to debut DDs on the other feeders and even if not immediately, in the last 3 months? ATM, SMRT is definitely able to spare some DDs on these services especially since the handover exercise is quite soon.
There could be a possibility that these 3 units are transferred to SBST for training and LTA may have placed a small order for A24s, which can still be delivered in the upcoming 3-4 months.

i do not have the contract and thus i am not sure whether LTA have specific which services get what.. but most likely it will be for sv24.....
as for DDs for other yishun feeders, there are still around 150 NWAB bendies running around.. which services do you want to put these bendies on? ppl are already not happy with a few NWAB bendies on 854....
even since BCM, both SMRT/SBST have been using their old buses way up to the official lifespan (except for few problematic buses which are layup earlier) as LTA are paying them the leasing cost for these old buses..
806 gotten DDs because of the WAB status and not enough A24 to deploy.
Even sv851 only manage to get upgrade to DDs fleet in the last month..... so the rest of the yishun feeders most likely will wait until End Dec (when another 50 or so bendies are deregistered) to get DDs.
