Though there’s shuttle bus available, please expect travelling time to be 2 times longer (Eg. 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes).
Yesterday, the western portion of East-West Line opened later at 8am. I was out at 6am and I took the shuttle bus from Pioneer to Buona Vista. Usually, the trip takes about 25 minutes. But when I took the shuttle bus, with transfer at Jurong East, the trip took about 50 minutes.
Nonetheless, shuttle bus is faster than normal bus as bus stops are skipped. The trip to Buona Vista would have taken 70 minutes if I had taken 185 instead of the shuttle bus.
To those using the eastern portion of East-West Line, do make accommodations for 2 times travelling time during the affected dates. Otherwise, consider taking taxi, Grab or Uber.

Eastern portion also not spared? That section was newer than the Tiong Bahru to Jurong East stretch.

The first "Fast Forward" service in 11 years~I was wondering what's the purpose of it serving key MRT stations and it could have been 147B instead though.

After all the rumours about several rail-parallel services like 500, I wouldn't buy their arguments until LTA start to introduce services in areas with very limited transport options other than MRT, such as the northeast and Jurong.
