Either that or SBST is just plain fucking stupid... I'm not surprised if it is so LMAO
SBST mindset when buying buses,Be the most basic,Less power so BC cannot chiong too much..Who started the gear 1 & 2 restriction?SBST.Operators taking over SBST buses will know.Compared SG and SBS B9TL you find the answer.Only a handful of their buses is good.Thats why so many SBS plate Citaros is so problematic.
And compared to SBST and SMRT/TT/GA bus training is world of difference.SMRT/TT/GA got intermediate training but SBST just proceed for class 4A test.Thats why so many of their BC lack basic understanding and knowledge of heavy vehicles.

But Woodlands doesn't have OCs and Citaros.

They have enough MAN A22 and yet Intratown services will only get more crowed if the MAN A22s replace the outgoing O405Gs.There isn't many MAN A24s to begin with...

Either that or just introduce DD to the Intra-Town services..

Because Singapore no space liao. If not we might see more A24s (and maybe some KUAs) in service in CB80 body kits supplied by Custom Coach.

Based on the latest batches of Wrights and Enviros, ie Batch 4 Wrights vs last 100 of SMRT Enviro 500s, the Wrights are cheaper at 505+k, compared to Enviros at 508k. Thats the fact.

I was rather surprised at the rate the bendies are going off. 29 MK2s will all be gone by early March, 65 Habits and one Volgren, among which half will be gone within the span of 1.5 months (early June and mid July) and another half will be gone witihin the span of 0.5 months only (second half of August). The remaining 59 Habits all be gone within 10 days in December, especially when 40 of them had their lifespan "shortened" similar to the case of CDGE B9TLs in September 2006. It was one of the greatest surprises I had ever when pursuing the enthusiast feeling of buses.
After all this how many bendies will be left in 2018?

Production and delivery does not work the way you think, manufacturers and customers have to agree on a delivery schedule. The most important thing on deciding the delivery schedule from a customer's point of view is finances (cashflow etc), bearing in mind that payment is made from the customer to the manufacturer or dealer usually only when the bus is delivered.
What this means is that, the customer will have to decide between accepting a "rushed" delivery schedule with a heavier impact on cashflow vs accepting a slower delivery schedule which has a lesser impact on cashflow.
The customer will also need to consider whether any existing assets are reaching end of life, and the space and rent required to store the new (replacement) assets. Not using a perfectly usable asset until end of life is wastage, therefore, companies will only replace them when they come up for renewal. This determines the delivery schedule for the new equipment.
In short, its not that Volvo is inefficient, its just that the contract most likely doesn't require them to produce at whatever rate you as an armchair expert think is suitable.
Welcome to the real world.

There aren't many A24s which is true but they also need to get smart about the A24 deployment. Many of them are doing trunks that can use DDs.
A24s in future should be strictly used for 300 (08), 302 (12), 913 (10). 962 (06) and 858 (04) should be the only trunk. All rest should upgrade to DDs.

O.405Gs
By end 2017 - 99
By end 2018 - 44
By end 2019 - 16
By end 2020 - 6
All will be retired by end 2021 assuming no lifespan extension, which is unlikely.
And of course you have the 40s A24s, which will most likely be in service until 2030s.

+ 184, putting double decks on 184 will either a) completely wreck the reliability of 184 or b) require a massive increase in resources due to increase in running time to factor in the increased dwell time.

Again, dont measure it in terms of order average.. Take into account of bulk discounts yo
IMO I think they shld just sell the storage B9s and buy in A24, deploy them all on feeders.. Replace old bendies, ensuring HC buses that are actually MEANT for feeders, and we can do some spring cleaning of the rubbish here. Win-win-win situation!

Bulk discounts alone doesn't explain why KMB got a very cheap price for their 220 Wrights that are yet to be delivered despite ADL having more than 1000 Euro 5 Enviro 500s around.
Competition is dynamic, and discounts of any sort are just part of it, if ADL offers an overall higher price vs Volvo, then its their loss.

HK ≠ SG, firstly. In HK wrights are assembled in Zhuhai while SG, STK (or is it CDGE I forgot). So there, HK wrights aren't the most durable either so your point on quality falls.
Next. Dont generalise the order for HK, there are also a 1000 over B9s for KMB alone, so just coz 220 of them are cheaper does not mean the rest will be.
Look, I just think that for what LTA is getting they are on the shorter end of the stick since they are paying almost the same, if not more, for an older model of the make that is the B9. If they do want to take Volvo they should just convert the remaining orders (if any, good riddance lol) to B8TL directly. I think with E6 engine it will def be more worth the time.
Oh and ofc. Pls let it come w Ventura doors ans PIS.
