No more orders of B9s subsequently anymore as LTA is has decided on A95 purchase instead
So wont have B9 with USB ports
AFAIK, the B9TL order will only be completed in whole in 2017.
Lush green MAN A95 on 854E today during AM peak.

No lah.
MAN A95 is meant to replace all Mercedes-Benz O405G bendy buses.
Volvo B9TLs are however still ordered until 2017, and should be enough to cover all the replacement buses that is done by SBS Transit. Dennis Trident 3 and VSO are too far away, 2023?
Next fleet replacement: Scania K230UB because some have terminal update.
SG 5795 E on 854 today . Bedok interchange at 9.25pm
Wonder why 854 get USB ports bus when LTA didn't mention the service during the press release . But I like it - got free charging who doesn't want .i
But they didnt mentioned cannot ply other svc mah.. " The buses may from time to time be redeployed to other services."Originally posted by Formususeonly:SG 5795 E on 854 today . Bedok interchange at 9.25pm

The press release regarding the USB ports on buses is very misleading, especially for bus services like 985.
Wonder if LYDEP started deploying those 579x batch on 985 yet. Same goes for 61 and 67. As for 969, seems that the earlier A95 batch are deployed.
963 is more like it.
LTA should have included 854/854E in the list too since 579x batch frequents 854 very often based on observations.

Standard la,They got so many misleading stuffs and put the blame to the operators. In the end BCs kena the rap by commuters everytime..Patience got a limit.

They will. I will be surprised if all operators, including SBS Transit, do not get A95s.
This new A95 order is news. For everyone else, pretty much Game Over.

But extra 122 units only leh bro,Give SBST also not enough to replace their Euro III B9TLs,Tridents and VSOs😂

Transperth distributes new buses from new orders equally among operators. As this is LTA's order in their own right, I do not expect them to deviate from Transperth's practice this time round.

If even SMRT, which alr has a plethora of fleets in its own respect, alr could take in B9s, why cant the rest?

Everyone else as in the operators or the manufacturers?

Problem is SBST and GA,They reluctant to use other infamous brands for them. They forever believe Mercedes-Benz,Scania and Volvo is the ultimate brands.GA also cause many are former SBST staff and engineers..

One day they will get MAN shoved down their throats... If they retaliate LTA will wave SMRT's story in their face...
And if LTA doesnt do that BCM essentially collapses, and millions of taxpayers dollars go to waste.

What LTA can do to them?Force? They only concern about $$$$ spare parts..MAN A22/A95 same engine mah..

Ofc... Why not force leh? The objective of BCM is to let LTA decide where buses go, the ops have no say... If not why SMRT must take in the trashy B9s? They wouldnt have done so what... The A95s are coming in well and yet...
Clearly the SMRT fiasco proves that it's either $$$ is not much of a concern here, or those in LTA just plain fuckin stupid...

Because SMRT so desperate to have DDs and the Enviros isn't enough to cover for their service.I would predict those B9TLs will be transferred back to other GCM once they have enough A95s.

Manufacturers.
For Transperth's model, my undestanding is that either the operator takes the new buses purchased by Perth's version of LTA whether they like that model or not, or to make do without any buses at all (i.e. missing buses).
Suprisingly its MAN that always failed the smoke test once every two years inspection. Many work to do with the exhaust system,SCR etc although it doesn't use Adblue.
I think LTA will let all the bus maintenance crew to learn about different type of new bus. I think LTA will not allow limited bus type choice to be purchase for people use. or else other bus manufacturer companies will complain unfair trading with our LTA. that is no good.

At Woodlands, watched the 963 and 969 buses for 2 hrs...no luck either. Supposedly at least 4 models were assigned to 963Should have tried 854 if I saw this thread earlier
For the past few days I have been seeing 854 having usb ports buses ( 5791 , 5794 & 5795 ) serving 854 . So if anyone wants to try usb port bus - because u haven't tried it - aim for 854 . Can guarantee got at least 1 unit daily or even 2 .
