from LTA FB
"Yes, we've heard you! Charging ports will be available in our buses and from 1 Sep 2016 onwards, you would be able to charge your mobile devices on the go :)
Some of you might remember seeing them in the concept buses if you had joined us at the inaugural Bus Carnival held earlier this year. Over 70% of the respondents feedback that this was a feature they hoped to see in our future buses.
Operated by SMRT, 10 new double-decker buses with USB charging ports will be hitting our roads tomorrow. The buses are deployed to these 5 bus services – Services 61, 67, 985, 963, and 969 (they may be redeployed to other services from time to time).
Each bus will have 41 USB charging points located near the inner seats which are free for commuters’ use. So move in, and worry no more about your battery going flat! The ports are also available at the wheelchair bay on board the wheelchair accessible buses.
This is part of LTA’s efforts in reviewing and upgrading the design of our public buses to enhance commuter experience. You can look forward to more of such buses as an additional 137 new buses with USB charging ports will be rolled out progressively from Oct 2016 onwards."
look at the ones in bold... so that means 61, 67, 985 & 969 also will have USB A95 buses? from AMDEP/LYDEP i suppose
and 137 additional buses... hmm, more A95 buses?
969 should be from WLDEP ? cos only 10 buses with the port.. and i think only 5790/5791/5792 in LYDEP..so one each for 61/67/985...
137 additional buses might referring to some A22 as well.... if all A95, then those bendies will be gone very soon..

This is a controversial question...some of the bus enthusiasts here had rejected this claim.

The remaining A22s are most likely for BSEP services.

obviously, i am talking about possible new orders for A22...not the current 20+ bsep A22 sleeping inside WLBP.

dun think it will start single depot control... tt is just rumour.. are u going to move all KJDEP 67/61/985 buses to loyang? that mean around 100 parking lots taken up already.. no space for others service already..
dun think KJDEP taking in any new A95....

I think when things are fully GCMised into totally separate packages in 20 years time then maybe totally purely single depot deployment will happen. For now SMRT will still ownself do own thing even though theoretically all assets are now supposed to be owned by the Gahmen.

340 buses under the yishun package, plus another 130 buses(which is for seletar package) excluding spare buses, how is AMDEP going to handle these for the time being?
and 67 /985 is under CCK package..so if really start single depot control, why bother to transfer them to LYDEP?
SMRT depots cannot handle all single depot la,Already lease Bulim and Loyang,Where else those buses wanna park?Bt Panjang svc leh?Park Wlbp also?

but if the user never bring cable, even if bus got charging facility, also cannot charge phone. :p
and hor, how much can one charge during a bus ride of 10-20 mins? even if bus ride is 1hr plus, at most around 30% nia... #justsaying

If someone has low battery, even the 15 mins can help la to get some battery life. And we are talking about trunk service, not feeders here. And what phone you have? My phone charges 100% in 40-45 mins.

So CBB bro, today is the eve of the red letter day, are there any move-mountain-move-sea redeployments observed at LYDEP?
Originally posted by TIB 585L:How about i tell u tmr onwards all change duty change at T2?
Meaning 67 change shift at Tampines, including KJ ones
985 change at GL1
61 change at Eunos
188 change at HBF
187/178 change at BNL
Hmm okay, not sure about that, but more impactful would be fleet changes.
