Amdep and Kjdep maintain A22,OC500LEs,A95s and a few E500s

yeah what to do? SMRT main fleet is MAN now..

Not really confusing, and I have to say its not a big matter either, since the 320hp and 360hp engines are physically the same engine.

I don't know how they get access into it, and what is stated in the portal but I don't expect it to have any answers to the power rating, maybe just a generic NDxxxF or A95.
Which doesn't give any answers especially when the engine can be tuned to 320 or 360hp.

No, the Honda example you gave are different engines within the same family with different displacements. The MAN D20 engines, regardless of the power rating, are essentially the same engine with the same displacement and in fact its the same physically. The only difference is the computer chip which controls the engine.
You mean d20 engine ranging from 320/360 and 400 hp all use just a chip??
Meaning those HK 320hp can anytime shoot up to 360 by just changing the chip and dyno-ed it?Wow!

All variants of the D2066 within the same Euro emissions level are the same engine. For Euro V/VI buses and coaches, the lowest rating is 280 PS / 1250 Nm and the highest is 400 PS / 1900 Nm. All variants are the same, with the same 6-cylinder, 10.516-litre configuration, the same twin-stage turbocharging, the same common rail injection system, and so on. The difference in power and torque comes down to engine management differences and maybe (but not necessarily) differences in the fuel delivery system (e.g. larger injectors). It is absolutely possible to significantly derate a 400 PS engine simply by controlling airflow (turbocharger wastegates) and fuel flow (injection timing and quantity).
Anyone taken SMB5889E yet?
So how many A95s are they buying? Some say 16..some say 90? Looking at the no. of DDs, Bendy and the no. of MAN A22, SMRT is prepared to lose those high capacity routes liao?

I would say about 120 with 30 under BSEP.

hmm... why would LTA approve an A95 purchase instead of standardising on E500?
I can only think of a) E500 not performing or b) E500 majority going to TT so let SMRT have A95s? Idk.
Thought LTA would just standardise on E500.
If LTA starts to sponsor A95s then they also need to sponsor K320UDs for SBST
I thought LTA buy all the buses from two companies? old and new every buses from our tax payers money?
5889 on 700 today
Hope that they buy 112 units till the rego is 5999,Lol!Anyway pls perm on svc like 61,67 or even 985.5888 already go to town.

maybe
but LTA would have ordered N310UDs since max is 310hp not 320hp and preference on low floor not low entry (N = low floor, K = low entry)
7888K was great, but i wonder what happened.

That's why I expected LTA to standardise on 1 model (and not allow A95) - I assumed they just found B9TL better so sorry Scania bye bye.
Don't standardalise too much la..like how SBS Transit's Scania KUB are screwed up..At least OC/MAN is better in terms of the comfort level..

I don't like standardisation lol... if we assume all buses have flaws, thenstandardise means there will be 1 flaw that is shared by 100% of the buses. Best leave room for improvements/互补 lol
