  AFI was a punk band initially, later wrote their songs in tragic form... and was classified as goth/dark punk. AFI was never an emo band, its becos their lead singer Davey Havok got a moody look, so people called them an emo band.

  I listened AFI 2 year ago. They produce some good stuff. Nonetheless they were punk. Hahaha.
