I once dreamt of going to singapore to work. Until my friend returned from singapore complaining about workplace bullying. She told me that she was harrassed by some guy managers, even sexually. She complained to the HR. You know what the stupid HR did? The HR instead fabricated evidence to make her seem that she is crazy and got fake testimonials from suck-up and shoe polishing co-workers to testify against her. They then forced her to go to psychiatrist to seek treatment for paranoia and shizo disorder.She quit her job and was so emotionally distressed. But she found a job in my country and has been working well ever since.
Gosh, if I find that stupid &(*&^%^%%^&&&***(()_W@)_ HR manager in singapore, i will rip the intestines out from the arse of that idiot. What a dictatorial pieceof shit. They rank far worse than Moammar Gadaffi.

Is pleasing to learnt that she is doing good mentally now. Not easy for mother's 10th pregnancy, upbringing and then ended up in the corporate world devastated to such an extent. In fact, everyone has its predefined destiny for peace and harmony. The sole purpose of Corporate world as a big family is sort of a big charitable and generosity organisation to assist its government to look after the well being of all.It really suck to learnt of such tragedy in an educated society like singapore, what the suck. There may also many similar instances that may have suffered in silence. suck so suckingggg ! hope that the future young promising generation of sg will be in good shape of moving corporate world into another milestone of everlastin joys and peace. so suck!

SGD to SGD, not worth living and working in spore. If I, I mind as well go Australia, the ex rate is much better.
Live in Spore is too expensive. No chance to live in a normal house, have to live in high rise apartments - no garden.

You are right when you say that. But oftentimes have to look at the employees' status in the co. Too small a fish go point out the error of a much bigger fish, who do you think will get fried first? Whose 'death' will be easier to cover?
At first, the person I report to give me problem. Den I ask her why, she say higher-ups. When I know part of it is her problem. And she keep shooting me. So I have no choice but to go and tell HER boss. And after that, she resign. But things have not improved for me, they simply got another person to replace her. The only way to do improve the situation, is to move up and step on them.
But I know, every co. is like that larh...esp in corporate world, dog-eat-dog, employees are no longer seen as humans but robots.

I know one logic. Why do we have jobs?
To solve problems.
If there is no headache at office, there is no problem to be solve.
Therefore you and I would be jobless.

If you really really serious about givign up your job (means giving up all your creature comforts like Ipad, Iphone)
THere are a lot of undisturb places you can go to and restart a new and simpler life.
Places like Indochina, Goa-India, Myanmmar.
Migrate there, take up a job as social worker.

some of teh managers have karkia to help them be their allies. coz manager primary 6 only, last time proud GM when time sgood, but latter got retraneched cannot even afford car already. so see his subordinates also same 1 , only can survive in this company, so they keep to each other and work iin a team. the problem stems from the mangers, in times of bad they will do anything to keep their own rice bowls. -
working in an office environment in itself is already tough.
it is a chore to sit in office, facing PC, laptop, answering emails to customers, colleagues, boss etc, doing mundane chores like faxing, sourcing for info at Google etc, writing and taking minutes, writing endless proposals and reports to submit etc.
Please note I have not mentioned on bosses, inter department conflicts etc.

work start since ancient times, those who do not work, will disintergrate themselves both in health and the changing world.Humans are born to work and suffer, not born to enjoy all the time, that is why, our happy hours only last for 2 hrs per day

Playing devils advocate, all the top management started out the way u did with all if not more problems. If they made it up there it means only one thing. They are better than you. Suck it up and live with it.
But in summary most companies in SG really sucks bad.
