Hey, I posted a topic 2 yrs ago, About how I dropped out of my poly education And also about how I regretted it and was seeking help from this forum. I got alot of useful replies, and I decided ultimately, to complete my ns stint first. Now, after 2yrs, my ns cycle is almost complete and I'll be a civilian again in June. I'm a coporal in the guards unit, and although life had been tough, it was manageable. And since school will have already started by then and I can't defer from my ns, I'm forced to wait for almost an entire year before I can start school in April 2013. So, I'm suddenly brought to consider again, what my options are when I (finally) ord. I'm hoping to secure a place in rp for the course of diploma in new media, since I've finally Found something that I'm actually interested in. I'm the kind of arts person, and I can't stand Circuits and stuff which is why I dropped out of my engineering course in the first place. Unfortunately, the course requires a cut off point of 22, which I missed by 1 point. I also know that if I intend to reenter a poly, it must be through the DAE system, in which case my application will be considered last, making the chances much lower. Could someone offer me any tips on my options or if there are any arts school that I can go to(which is actually affordable), or just any helpful suggestions for a poly dropout like me.
Arts schools that are more recognised in Singapore:
1. www.nafa.edu.sg
2. www.lasalle.edu.sg
3. www.sota.edu.sg (for 13 - 18 years old)
and also
www joochiat pub. sg
www duxton les. sg
latitude have lots of drop out working as manager there...if you got that look
call poly or arts school to ask lar bro, we are not experts on this subject unless someone here is an admin officer.
If you truly interested in your future go down personally to find out yourself.
There are many art related courses out there besides new media.
Since you have the time now. Take part/full time job while you wait for the next intake.
Meanwhile, try to broaden your horizon of the availabilities by asking questions, view brochures and attend course previews.
This helps you to narrow down your choices and your likelihood of entries.
Why last time you open your thread in Support Forum??!
Shouldn't this posting be going to something related to jobs. Is this an Aunt Agony matter? Why is posted here?
there us an open house at raffles school. can't remember the exact name. but youu can check it out on the mert electronic advertisement boards. they have art courses ar there.
the open house is on feb 15 from 10am - 6pm! good luck
they are good, but expensive. because no gov subsidy, no financial assistance, no ezlink concession.
most affordable is nafa, if TS is interested in arts school.
I am curious though, what does (Phd) in your title thread means? I thought you're a Poly dropout who's now taking your doctorate.
