It's so hard to get a working visa... Please help :(

  well, even if the guy cleared your friend's interview... it's "good luck to you" when you send in the employment card application to the ministry of manpower then... i've got a contact working in there and she said it's tougher starting this year since there's an order issued to cut down the approval rate.

  do note that there will also be different set of rules and regulations (restrictions) for work permit holders vs employment pass holders.

  aim for employment pass. it would be better. work permit tend to have more restrictions i think, maybe your future like housing n marriage might be affected if u do intend to settle in sg.

  especially applying for permanent residence... employment passes, higher chances. work permit almost no chance ...

  dont let the mad rush get into your head, look further down the road...

  oh, besides the tightening on the numbers of foreign workers here, the government is also tightening the approval success rate for permanent residence applications too.
  
  after-all, with 40% of the Singaporean citizens voted for the opposition against the ruling party in the elections (the lowest popularity vote share since independence day), the ruling government will have to listen more to the voices of Singaporeans who told the government, "too many foreigners already"...

  Today, nearly the whole of europe are applying for coming here, you can hardly get it, it is ang mo pay back time. The only work permit allowable now is only construction, shipyard and marine, the rest can better hold on to singaporean or employ singaporean, as for employment pass, it is more harder to get. Just by applying thru overseas is not going to get you anywhere without a strong organisation locating in singapore recommendation, if no recommendation and applying for job here, you better dun waste your time.

  If you really want, you need to visit singapore, just like me, come first with a 3month visa, then get an organisation to employ you, apply permit for you with a proper job description. Unless you have a set of unique special skill technically, otherwise, for those office job, admin, frontline services, you can forget about it. If you can cook a good dish, famous, or that a ship cannot set sail without you kind of skill, you are most wanted here, if not, no more toms and dicks and angels

  My pubs have to reduce to work permit by this year, meaning, I need to send some foreign gals back to their homeland, not only MOM stop all intake, reduce quotas, they also slowly want to reduce your permits at hand.

  I went havelock road MOM and ask to look for the young Minister of Manpower, former general, the admin peoples there stared at me with big big eyes, then asked, you got take medicine or not?? Fed up I go furama next door.
