The story goes like this...
I am 17 going to 18 in 1 month. One day I was drunk. At woodlands mrt, someone(a 30 year old guy) punched me and wont stop. I punched him back. Somehow I managed to knock him out. He was drunk too. The next day, i was told that he press charges against me because he went to the hospital and also lost $100. For all i know, after i knocked him out, i went home quickly.I also lost $180 spectacles I wore. The next day, my nose swelled, my cheeks were blue black. Furthermore, I am considered a minor right? He landed the first punch on me which concludes that he assaulted a minor. CCTV caught everything i hope. I even have a witness who saw he threw the first punch.
So can I be charged or let off?

fight back is wrong. No sales to alcoholic drink to under 18. Both also lose. You'll be send to rehab.

under 18 but my parents knew i drank on that day. futhermore, i did not buy the alcohol. two australian guys treated me and my friends beers.
And i did not fight back. It was self-defence. If a person hits you continously, are you just going to stand there and let him beat you? even the police beats people up when people beat them.

You only heard he is pressing charges.
He knows you or not. He has to report to the police, can he give your name and address. When the police come to check you out, tell your story.
Otherwise don't worry.

If you are sure he punch first, and got CCTV to back you up, you should be fine.
BUT
17 is not minor.
minors are children 16 and under. 17 can go adult prison alr.

if both of you were truly drunk what does he expect to get out of this lawsuit?
i assume both of you would be fined for unruly behaviour.

Its the lawyers who will be trying their skill or luck.
Win or lose the case, they get paid.

The lawyers dun even bother to take up such case, they are more interested in divorce, copyright and infringement issues.
Both hv to make a police report, submit to lawyers for processing, than wait for police decision, if no action taken, lawyer then file court order and seek court (subordinate) date, judge secretary will scan thru it, throw it into the dustbin and ask lawyer, hello, you just graduate ar??? this is a no case issue leh

Lawyers work for their clients, they follow the clients instructions. No case issue also they have to twist and turn until it become a case.
If judge experience, he straight away throw out at one glance. Not so experience maybe trial, then go higher court for appeal, then the senior judge tick off all of them for frivolous issue. Just like recent custody of dog case.

frankly, do u think the above case can make a stand in court, drunk fighting each other in the public? I think you are lowering singapore judiciary standard. Police eats shit ar?

If the 30yo want to pursue the matter, he just need to find a lawyer.
Just wait, as I have posted earlier, TS just heard the guy is going to press charges. The starting point is the police report. Has that been made? Without it, the pressing of charges is just hot air.

Well, how does one know if someone wans to press charge on you?
Do you receive a letter? (how do someone identify you and know your address?)
Do you receive a phonecall? (how do someone find out your phone number?)
Do you have someone knocking on your door, maybe policeman, telling you that someone want to press charge? (unless the person making the charge knows who u are)

If you are a minor and he is 30s, then dont worry if every action is being recorded in cctv. He press charges against you for medical claim, ask him to fly kite in johor. -
