I'm a sec4 student taking my O levels this year.. Right now it's already september, yet i still can't bring myself to study.. I have no motivation to study and i am always getting so distracted.. I know the importance of this examination, but i'm just so ill-disciplined. O levels is approaching in less than 2 months, is it possible to make a difference even i start working hard now? And what do you guys have as advice for me to study effectively? I need to get 9 - 12 points so that i can get into the course i want, but judging from how i am going, i don't think it is possible.. So angry and disappointed with myself :( My teachers have high expectations for me but i kept on disappointing them, again and again. Thanks for reading and i hope to find some impact from you guys :)
Hi, i'm facing the same problem too. What i'm doing now is to write down the goal that I want to achieve in big red marker on drawing block and paste in behind my door so I can see it everyday. It says 'ARTS BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND ITS A F**KING 11 POINTS. WANT IT? COME GET IT!' I'm technically forced to look at it everyday before school and its actually quite a motivator. :)
If you're comfortable with the teacher, book him or her for coaching sessions, when I do that I'll feel that the teacher is willing to waste his time coaching a lousy student so best to do well. and after coaching its almost a guarantee you'll be darn motivated to study on that subject.
HAHA these are what you call 'white people problems'.
You aim for 9 - 12 points, realistically are you able to able those points? Post your subjects and expected points, and we'll provide more suggestions for you. I want to tell you that it is possible because many people have did it.
If you are feeling slightly burn out, why not take a small break before continuing.
Best regards,
Chin Seng
it's all in the mind.
Hmm okay, i'm actually considered one of the elite students in my school, so 9 - 12 points should be fairly easy. But after playing a fool for 1.5 years, i think maybe not so easy now?
Based on MYE my results are
English : B4
E Math : A1
Combined Science : B3
Mother Tongue : A2 ( Mid year O levels got a B3 :( )
Combined Humanities : B3
Additional Mathematics : B3
F&N : F9
Here are my expected grades for O level ( My CCA D7 so -0 points :( )
English : B3
E Math : A1
A Math : A2/B3
Combined Science : A1
Combined Humanities : A1/A2
Mother Tongue (Retake) : A1/A2
F&N : F9/E8
Do you think it is possible to achieve my expected grades when i'm only left with 1 month? Thanks for looking.. :)

Haha thanks, i will try and see if it works :) I'm not comfortable with looking for teachers for consultation, also i have no friends in school.. so i can only depend on myself :/ haha..
1) Talk to people who failed in the o levels before.
2) Talk to people who are willing to hire people who fail in the o level.
3) Talk to people who have been laugh at for failing o level.
4) Talk to people who have failed o level and could not get a decent job and had to fed a family and kept regretting why they never do well for their o level.
5) If the above does not work, then this will, due to your possible failure in passing your o level you could only get a construction worker job and you are forced to eat your lunch beside piles of shit with maggots.

There are room for improvement! Just give all your best during this one month!
English B4
E Math A1
A Math A1
Combined Sciences A2
Mother tongue A2
Combined Humanities B3
F&N F9
Expert recommendation: Put in effort in your A Maths and Combine Science so that it will score an A. At the same time, invest some of the valuable time in your combine humanities.

Hmm okay! For Combined Science can i just study the textbook and get an A? :S Or for all subjects need to practice TYS?
Combined science is tested more on the content and understanding. Read textbook to gain understanding, do TYS, then try exam questions.
For E maths and A maths, it is focus more on the application of knowledge. You need to know how to apply the formulas that you have learn and try to master each topic. Practice the TYS followed by attempting other school's paper.
