though he lost his job...its sad news...but u must not give up....being the eldest...
the burden is now on you, bro....u must work harder...and find more alternatives e.g. part times...to survive...u should also bring this up to your MP...to seek help for your dad if possible...
no one would celebrate Father's Day as much as for mums...but the best gift is still your best efforts to turn your family woes around...
for a better tommorrow! dun worrry too much! your dad is just as sad as anyone of u...
i've been through that stage myself ...its part of a working man's life...when my father lost his job while i was still schooling...he indulged in alcohol and became very depressed..nevertheless i picked up quite well with 2 part times (as KTV waiter and give tuition) while still in NUS...and having meals at buddhist centres when i was dead broke...
the thing you need to remember is never ever blame your father...he is still afterall your father, and its your turn now to carry him on your back...
Good luck bro!
no rush for u to find work
how abt cutting down on expenses first
like, terminating internet at home

Most internet plans are contract based, you can't terminate whimsically.

Meanwhile, can yr mother go find ft or pt work, just as standby until yr bro grad from uni?
find MP
tell MP ur problem
tell MP write letter to ISP to terminate w/o penalty

You know bro, this appears to be the only thread that you gave the most sensible remarks and best advice loh !!
How come never criticize govt policy liao har?
Oh ya.. on a side note, i am current job hunting as well for a new position. Theres this executive post i applied for at some civil service college. And you know what? They actually send me an essay question and ask me to submit by tmr. What the hell? I majaim feel like i am back in uni, have to submit assignment.
Topic is analyze recent government initiatives and give comments how are they successful and how they can be improved.
If theres someone i can consult here to give best remarks, its you ler man ..
Btw, i'm writing on Marriage and Parenthood policy.
tuition agencies are now not easy as the past....there is no demand for too young a tuition teacher even for primary schools...
rather than waiting for that.....the fastest is still fast food restaurants, banquet waiter jobs....now youngsters are making millions with social medias....
no matter how life is....it is still a life worth treading on.....pick up new skills i.e. computing etc.. ...and continue to upgrade where possible....along the way...tell yourself u must succeed!
be careful with get-rich-quick schemes esp. now the hot news on those teenagers end up arrested for distributing flyers for ah longs....be careful yo!
boi....be street smart and there is really no short cut to success in life....
cultivate hard work with street smart mentality!
