It has got to do with our upbringing. The way parents these days bring up their kids.
Parent: "Dont study hard, next time be toilet cleaner ah"
Child: Orh.
So what does this imply to the younger generation? Those who work as toilet cleaner never study hard when they are younger.

the only way is "up" in our modern world....those who are engaged in environments are not given the due respect...from cleaners to even property or facilities officer....
but how clean are the top executives up there with briberies slowly uncovered to the waste of all their academic excellence?

I think not some, but most do.
Just a matter of whether we show it or not.
For instance, out of respect, i appreciate the cleaners effort in making the area cleaner, but i myself do not want to become one in the future.

The people who look down on cleaners, are people who look down on people they they consider inferior to them. It is not confined to cleaners only, they also look down on taxi drivers, bus drivers, technicians, labourers, hawkers, and since they are looking down on people, they also look down on certain races of people too.

Cleaner's pay can buy a handphone already.I also want to work as cleaner so as to buy a handphone.I don't think cleaners are poor enough at least still have income.

Tat is life. Tat is reality.U mean to say if you r cleaner you dun look up to people. Same thing. U walk to work, but u see those rich bankers drive Passat or Mercedes to work. U don't feel a hint of envy?
