These two have recently got on my nerves...
I own a card at UOB.
My ex-wife Owns a plan at starhub.
She used my card for recurring charge before we divorced.
We divorced.
She refused to cancel the recurring charge.
UOB cannot cancel the charge. (unless i cancel the card)
Starhub cannot cancel the charge, it requires her signature.
effecticly.. UOB and Starhub and ex-wife has frauded me...
cos i have no control over the payment cycle without causing great trouble of cancelling my card...
the problem is elevated, as I'm currently in australia and wont be home till a year later...
BEWARE OF UOB AND STARHUB... and if anyone could advice me on how to bring this case up to a fruad officer for consumer protection?
***********
EDIT: cause alot of people misunderstood ,my problem....
the case is NOT about my ex scamming or frauding me
the case is about NOT GIVEN THE PROPER RIGHTS to payment handling.
STARHUB AND UOB doesnt give the owner of the card, the proper authority to cancel a payment.
in it, a possible case of fraud, if any one else, has a scanario in this similar fashion which does not allow the PAYER to make the authorative cancellation of payment...
*** imagine I used your card to make payment, WITH your prior knowledge, and than later change it to a recurring charge WITHOUT your knowledge
(or in any similar fashion, altho this DID NOT happen in my case, but, assume u make the one time payment, u sign the bill, i went home later and ticked the "recurring future payments" box) ,
after which YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS to cancel, i mean go ahead sue me, put me in jail for frauding you, but other than canceling you card, which gives you more problems, you have to continue to pay my usage....
this is assuming that, YOU ARE NOT TAKING the following options
- reporting loss or stolen card,
- terminating card due to fraud...
the prob is with ur ex-wife.
i can keep pestering her to cancel, but if she doesn;t want to
starhub will protect her interest as it IS her mobile account
and uob will protect starhub, not me. bcos they have no right to cancel the charge or block a single charge..
so it's not their fault
and it's oso not fraud
u are just being biased becos u are frustrated
still it's ur ex-wife prob
its not their fault that i have no control over my own card ?
this is like i can use YOUR card to pay for everything monthly and u have no rights to stop me from doing so -.-'
u are not thinking correctly
from the start, your ex-wife's plan should let herself settle...........................
doesnt mean get married also you become robert pay for everything...
i can just cancel the card, but the thing is in stead of of 1 simply process
of excising my right to cancel a payment on my own card
i now have to
1) cancel the card
2) reapply the card
3)wait for form from singaoire
4)send form back to singaore
5)wait for card
6) send activation card back to singapore
7) wait for parent to send all the new bills
8) re apply for each bill the recurring charges
9) send each one back
10) re submit my new card for online merchant verifications
*) possible fees for new card replacement
*) if reported as loss, need to make police report..
so MANY god damn steps.. :(
i am complaining, but the point i'm trying to make is,
as a rightgul holder of the card or provider of payment. WE SHOULD be given full rights to cancel a single payment and not have to go thru so much trouble. the finance provider for any service should have the final rights in authority in regards to any payment.. not the user or beneficiary of the payment.
in this case, uob or ME should have the full rights to withhold a payment .. it is our account... my account...
what uob is telling me is, they have no rights to cancel the recurring payment. they are not the authority, starhub is !?? What kind of nonsense is this ?
and starhub... has no right to cancel a payment because i am the payment giver BUT not the accout holder ??/ this is another load of bullshyt...
companies like this acts on feedbacks and complaints. they are what they are today. bcos its client base or users does not bother to seek recourse, if this sort of case happens to you in the future. you will feel my sorrow..
and pls dun be all proud and say it wont.. it might not to you but some one else out of the 5 mil people in singapore.. a thousand or so will fall into this trap or deceit...
Pay your wife's bill, once and for all, and cancel the card.
If not, you will be paying more and more mobile phone bills for her.
Aiya, take it as a divorce gift lah, so miser, you think sex for free want ar??
let not even get into the sex topic...
its not a 1 time fee.. its recurring
i paid , gladly paid, she hook up with someone else.. so i divorce her,
then told her to cancel, she even got a nice parting gift for divorce...
she say she'd cancel, in the end... nope.. sturhubs keeps coming back to me monthly
she is supposed to cancel in feb.

Hello, internet for nothing one ar?? go email starhub and uob lah, cancel everything, get a confirmation emails, that is it, I am now in Starbuck also can surf Oz bank, and buy Oz currency, simple starhub stuff you cannot settle?? my goodness, no wonder get divorced lah.
wah lau WHICH PART u dun understand..
UOB do not let me cancel the payment
UOB LET ME cancel my card
to reapply the card .. see above... its supp card... my parent can;t read... i'm i australia
takes them a week to send me a letter,
takes me a day to send the letter back to uob
take them a week to send me the new card...
i cannot put australia address as my billing address bcos my parent pay the bill... the account is in singapore too..
even if i send email to uob, WHICH i did, they WONT cancel the payment...
starhub REQUIRES the account holder of the mobile phone to sign the cancellation form
i CANNOT by phone, email or letter, ask starhub to cancel the payment...
i have NO JURISDICTION OVER MY OWN FKING CARD....
and thats my problem !?!?! stupid starhub and uob...
i got internet also lan lan.... starhub and uob say NO i fk them upside down also useless..

you got it spot on.
doncha see? it's not abt the card, or the bank or the telco.
instead of harrassing them (which wun get u anywhere except more frustrations and let us laff at u more here) u shd channel the efforts in getting your ex-wife to do wat she needs to do.
if needed, get the lawyer (again)
no body understood the concern...
the bank cannot help its own customers... simple as that .. useless bank
sigh, ah well atleast the bank has been operating for longer than i have lived, if this retardness of operation has allowed the bank to survive for so long, and every one else think the bank is correct. then so be it.. i can onyl live with the idea that the bank is out to eat me... and help others con me... and leave me powerless...
i'll just have to cancel the card, and reapply it and then let the bank charge whatever fees they have to just bcos all they want is those fees and by making the customer suffer...
so much for CSR... a load of bullshyt..
Wah! Look like an IQ question...
Who's going to foot the bill..

your wife is charging the telco bill to the SUPP card? or to the main card? if it is to the supp card, just cancel the supp card will do.
if it is charging to the main card, think u better send an email to IDA.......see whether they can help or not...
TS is in the confusion state. there is nothing TS can do but to cancel the credit card. why go and whine and whine. please look at the process of making payment and the owner of the mobile line. if you are the owner of starhub line, there is no problem. who ask you do half f things. don't blame anyone. next time don't be so stupid.
if u FT i fuk u. if u local i can teach u
cancel the card, and use the scanner to scan it over to you,so you can print and scan it back to sg.
but if the card rightfully belong to you.why cant you terminate the charges charged to your card?
secondly, your ex wive is being a bitch.
thirdly, consider all options.slowly get everything build up.im sure youd rather get charged a not so small amount instead of getting charged for things youre not using
Fyi
No bank in the world will cancel any card if there are still outstanding yet to be settled on the card.
If the bank does cancel the card, who will pay the outstanding?! The shareholders?! employees?!
it applies to every company in the world...
Please think before you fire off your email and start cursing and swearing...
An alternate situation will be as fellow forumnites say, fire off a lawyers letters with the outstanding amounts to be settled
Secondly, the bank has already given you a solution to cancel the card
From website, you can either
1. download the form and mail or
2. call the call centre to apply, if i am not wrong, if you are exisiting a/c holder, it will solve a few problems.
3. You can request the card to be sent to your mailing address in Oz
4. Your parents can still pay your bill in SG, just call them tell them the card number and the amount, they can pay at the branch or at any machines
Instead of whining away and going on and on, focus your energy to solve the problem
The more you delay, the more miserable you are.
Face it, it's YOUR EX-WIFE, you CANNOT Cling on ANYMORE...
Look forward and not backwards...
Yours is a extremely small problem which can be solved...
Look at the Japanese facing quadruple whammy:
1. Tsunami
2. Earthquake
3. Nuclear Exposure
4. Stagnating economy
As this email is being type, there are Japanese facing hunger, shelterless and radiation overexposure[Fukushima50 and others]
So what is your problem now?!
Take action and stop procrastinating
Add on:
If you parents do not wish to go to the branch or use AXS, SAM machines, you can ask then to fill up GIRO form for monthly deductions from their accounts...
I really think nobody understands what the TS is trying to let you all understand.
In summary, the TS simply is asking to cancel the particular charges from UOB, so that when STARHUB does not receive payments anymore, and the internet will cut off by STARHUB. When wife ask STARHUB why no more internet, STARHUB can just tell wife, sorry no $$ no internet. Then wife kaopehkaobu is her own business, she can pay her own from then on.
As simple as that lah, I oso dun understand why it is not allowed to be done.
