Love to hear that!
But already pass by age...too old to become one.
no actually i dont study in sec sch..always did badly for content heavy subjects. anyway, I'm going to talk to my mum about leaving school now (:
@lockey: yesh I'm horrible at time management ahha
Basically I think I don't have the right mindset of a JC student so I'm also confused on why Im in JC now. And I have so much to learn and improve...if I were to ask for a 1 year break from school, I would try to get things sorted out. Or else I would keep thinking of it and continue to be unhappy :s
idk!!
I went through the same self doubt phase, hardly passed any of my school tests, also thought of quitting school. I was a blur sotong who didn't understand anything at all.
But somehow everything became clear in JC2, like enlightenment. I did quite well for my A levels eventually, the last few months of intensive mugging was enought to see me through.
TS should ask herself what is her interest lies in. Major in which field, in Jc or poly.
I am not from PAP, nor I work with MOE, but I tell u ah, don't give up. As long as you got study, stress is indeed abit, you got chance. Even people working at PUB earning $2400+ talk big big, also dream of getting higher education. They tell you no need to study, bluff you one.
When you come out to work, you will understand. Those people who ask you don't bother to study, the moment you quit your school, they go right in to replace your vacated seat. Still, what can deny you from doing well in studies, unless it is yourself who cannot tahan and want to throw in the towel?
At my level, my Poly cousin same age as me, after got career, got wife, got son, got house, got car, still dream of go back school to study Uni. I go the JC, chaokeng my CCA whole life, then Uni track, when he was busy with being Vice President in Student Council, end up he come out one story, I come out also another story.
The person who tell u to go join her at her PUB, I tell u, ask her to f*** off.
But still, who can resist the lure of good money.
Go la. If u like. Cannot cope with studies at school yet love competitive sports, then jump into earning money then love money at work yet hate competitive colleagues. WTF.

For some people, JC is really not the place for them.
From primary to tertiary level, JC is the place where you are expected to mug the most.
Hence, if you really feel that JC is not the place for you, start planning head and see if there are any poly courses which interest you.
Jumping from JC to poly is not an uncommon thing, and there are people who did badly for "A"-lvl, went to poly, and then go to uni from there. (Thus 2 years were sort of wasted, unless what they learnt is applicable to the poly course they are in.)
Do consider this option, and keep an open mind to all possible options. For the time being, just try your best in JC, and don't give up even though you are considering other options at the same time.
I strongly urge ts not to quit school.
Get over it and have a good certificate.
it will help you alots when you are out there working.
No cert, no talk, no neg and no interview.
Only job is lower paid, or be your own boss.

I think where I can agree with you, is that throwing the towel on JC is OK, but throwing the towel on god-da**ed lifelong education is not OK.
All the best TS/.
TS, maybe you would like to think about this...there are many students who wanted to go jc or poly also dont have the chance to study there. You have the chance, why not treasure it? Right?
I won't give up schooling, but I'm thinking of having a break. Thanks Forbiddensinner but the thing is that I wish to study overseas in the future and I stand a higher chance if I were to sit for Alevels.
@likeyou: yes, so I have to treasure JC life by making sure I do well..but I just can't now. But ...I dont have a choice. I have to stay in JC or else I won't have a future.
ah this thing is getting more complicated when I think more of it

Glad you are able to rationalised the importance of studies and get a good certificate for yourseelf. Dont worry too much. There is always ligh at the end of the tunnel.
Cheer up and all the best!

Ah! my devilish advocation works!
Have you considered taking up a course in polytechnic? I know of many JC students who left and enrolled in poly.
I'm not saying that poly is easier, but it is an alternative route.
But considering that you already started JC, why not endure another year, who knows you may perform well in A levels?
Always speak to your parents about it, they can advice you.
All the best!
Yes, who knows, u might get into local U.
Then you will have to thank youself for pushing thru the jc life.

or he can also make a U turn and go back to take some specialise course, alots of people are not focus on what they want, end up taking some courses that is completely irrelevant to their occupation, i got a pub captain here who told marine in poly, but now doing serving people job...be focus on what you want, does not mean you go U mean you can get the best out of life, see what you want, specialise in it, if you want to be in chef, dun waste time in U.
Hey everyone, thanks for all the advice! I transferred into poly already..never did i expect to land myself in poly ( didn't even include poly in my 12 choices) because my family never did talk about poly as an option. I like it here because what I'm learning interests me and I'm motivated to study hard now, there's no mental block anymore. I guess I couldn't cope with the JC routine..rigid. To be truthful I have never put in much effort in my studies all along and had a bad attitude towards it. So when I said that I wanted to drop out everyone around me said I was lazy. Yes..and I kept finding excuses . think JC life really isn't for me, I hated to go to school and do the same things over and over again...
I did quit my cca in JC and joined a slack club cca. But then it didn't help. I had lots of time but still nothing done. & I found myself feeling miserable because I felt that im just wasting time and yearning more for training.
i think poly also very stressful x) aiming to get in life science course in uni (:
