no lah, u go disco, where got band, peoples now can play band themselves using computer, and we got this philipinos who are very good singer, singaporean no future one lah, unless you lucky become one top singer lor, live bands dun attract much, most are those half dead men, hv some gals, play hiphop and then have some good pop hiphop to go along, you see full house on sat/sun nite hor

all i can say tht different type of places attract different crowds.
i just prefer places with live music/bands and of cus the genre of music makes a difference. hip hop just doesn't appeal to me, it's just a personal preference :)
live music/bands do attract crowds, just look at timbre, there are pple who are wiling to queue for hours just to get in and it's just a place to chill out, no heart pumping hip hop music at all.

the bands scene is sg is not well compared to many other cities around the world...

all sorts actually. i lean towards more to funk and jazz but there's no stopping me to dish out a song from oasis or U2.
a lot of my songs are oldies but recently been helping my fren's music school so got exposed to some newer songs.

thank you all for the well-meaning posts and encouragement.
i think it's just a phase of life where i'm doing some self checking and start to feel lonely and sorts of things.
i realise tht where i am now basically comes from the kind of person i am. I'm a cross over person that has parts of an introvert and extrovert.

That's the problem with you, since you cannot get anything out of live band and facing a midlife crisis, why not try other way to entertain yourself, the broader you open yourself to the scene, the more network you get and the more friends you make, in return you will be more cheerful and happy -

Ur pub out of style and trend la.Some pub got bands n attract a lot of regulars who want to come to listen to the music.
Disco hurt my ears, too many remix. I like to listen to band better.

all is meaningless unless u listen for the true meaning residing in your inner voice....
