  show your mom that he really cares about you and your family, invite him over for dinnersm abd allow his actions to prove it.

  The very fact that you are here posting to gain opinions or advice or ... is telling that unwittingly you are insecure and sadly deep within u conscious of race!

  If for eg I see myself as a chinese, malay or ....  i m bound to see or be conscious of another's race. If I am comparing myself with others with what I am , what I do, what I have - it is inevitable that i would do the same with another.

  Parents, friends, society are mere excuses!

  One can conform and lose oneself and still compromise but at the end of it all - one cannot escape what one is within.

  When one does not transcend one's innate bigotry, prejudice - nothing suffices. Till one understands, acknowledges, reconciles and hopefully transcend these conditioning(s) it is going to be difficult and to wish it away or hoping that something outside of oneself would ''fix'' ..... is being unwise.
