I think your mum is worried about cultural differences and bad rep associated with the Indian race.
It’s really up to the both of you to convince her not to stereotype.
My husband is Indian and he speaks perfect mandarin & hokkien.
For me I had it easy because my parents didn’t care about race but more on the character of the person.
I think it is really up to you to convince your mum to look past the race.
