SINGAPORE : With two months to go to National Day, it is time to get your tickets. This year, tickets will again be balloted but with some modifications to the system.
For those who want to be at the National Stadium, organisers have come up with five ways to apply for the tickets: the Internet, SMS, telephone, AXS stations, and Self Automated Machines or SAM.
To apply for National Day Parade tickets at any of Singapore's 150 SAM stations, just touch the 'NDP' selection button and you will be guided through the process.
This year, you can also choose tickets for the Preview or the actual Parade on August 9.
Besides that, you will also be able to apply for up to six tickets at a go, instead of only two or four in the past.
Singaporeans will get priority.
"We would like to give additional advantage to Singaporeans because of the limited tickets we have and because of the overwhelming demand for the tickets. So for Singapore citizens, you'll have a double chance of being successful at balloting," said Brigadier-General Chin Phei Chen, chairman of EXCO NDP 04.
Applications will open at midnight on Thursday and close at midnight on Sunday, 13 June.
But organisers say there is no need to rush as tickets are not given out on a first-come-first-served basis.
Each person is entitled to one application only.
Successful applicants will be informed by phone between 24 and 30 June. They can collect their tickets at New Millenia Walk, Level 2, from 2 to 4 July.

For telephone applications, which cost 20 cents per call, the number for Preview Tickets is 1900-112-1391; for NDP Tickets, it is 1900-112-1392.
