many have casted a bleak outlook for the future of singapore.. many have not tasted the revival of the economy though the figures are more positive now.
IS your outlook for Spore bleak or with hope?
Where is our investment to be; where is our job future to be; where is the security to be?
Many doubts... and wat is the govt doing to help spore?

in the short to medium term i think we are alright.
in the long run, im not optimistic. the various constraints that are imposed on us will begin to show up, esp. when the rest of the region and the world catch up. -

we hav been very reactive to situations...yes our govt did well to solve the problem in front of us swifely ... but most of them are not solutions for the long term.
Yes, our neighbouring countries are catching up and high cost of living and labour are turning away many industries... we are niche in some areas, but with the rising population, and those industries tat we invest in, will there b enough jobs for pple in the future generations?
Spending is curb by pple now cos the future is bleak, and a vicious cycle,...less spending, economy cannot move forward....
Can we blame pple from moving away and calling them names???

well. in terms of planning i think in fact our government does quite a good job. only thing is there is only so much time horizon they can plan for, with all the uncertainties around, esp now. and also, its not the planning but the complacency and mindset tt threw up a few hiccups recently.Originally posted by sgboy2004:mi agree with u...

but i can see tt the government is trying its best to respond to changes. problem is we all are victims of uncertainty, and constraints tt are beyond our control.
tt said, a not so rosy long term prospect should not be the motivation for our people to move away. afterall the people are still the major asset in this country. if ppl run off on the slightest notion of obstruction, we have really failed in instilling loyalty and sense of nationhood. -
when u expect less... will be less pressured.... and so u will be happier......
prospect of singapore?? not that good.... espeically when our crown prince is taking over soon... he is well known to be less capable than his father....so if u are expecting the same growth as last time.. u will be very disappointed....

2) passed those time?? isnt them the one that talk about flying at 36000ft?? its all about redesign, change direction... thats that they are talking about too...in any line or any time..there's ppl getting richer while some getting poorer.. it all about how u do it.....
