the battle level only becomes obvious at level 11 and above, when u get aura, and even then it's only good for show. -
It does jackshit like soran said, only gives u beautiful flames before the start of a race...

Hanor, I've seen my fair share of aura-less players beating smart-arse players with auras and a tua kang attitude. Their expressions after losing is pricess. Mo tak tang lah...

I'm one of the good players with no aura... the only reason I want to pump is becoz white flame looks very nice on my Trueno...

well duh, driving skill in a video game has nothing to do with driving skill in real-life. i'm talking about the times having an impact on the game, not real-life...outside the arcade, it dosent mean anything. wrong again. actually for me, i dont really keep stock of TA timings (unless the gap between mine and his is quite huge). i've seen too many cases of people who can run fantastic timings, but fall apart when they have their car's nose shoved behind my BNR34's rear, leading credence to the fact that good TA does not necessarily = good battling capability.
As for battle level, i also dont keep stock of it too much, as alot of people try and pump their battle level by battling only their noob friends or whatnot. -

I think the lvl in ver 3 will increase the ego of the player lor...people with high lvl naturally think they are good in the game. So when versus with players with lower lvl, the higher lvl player gains more confidence in the battle while the lower lvl player will lose some confidence. Not sure about one thing, is it true that higher lvl player has a headstart in the beginning of the battle...like better positioning of the car in the initial line-up...more in front of the lower lvl car and is closer to the first corner. Regarding pumping lvls...well, this is a game right? So whoever's daddy got more money can alway go ahead and pump your lvl until rainbow. Anyway, as long as you are not afraid to lose in a battle...i mean prepared to accept a loss in the stats, losing battle can also let you lvl up. I think that has something to do with the number of battles you had before.
Some people cannot accept loss and even takes this game to a more serious level by trying to ignite a fight/argument over it. Pretty cra.ppy anyway....so "Think before you drive". -

As for the aura actually giving u an advantage somewhere, i'll be disappointed if there was any. The fellow with aura already has alot of things in his favour
1) his car is most of the time, probably more tuned (or FT) than his non-aura oppo
2) he probably has more battle experience under his belt than the non-aura guy (that's if the aura was earned, not pumped). -
I don't dig any auras. I hate them instead. Its causing lamers to grow and people to play for the sake of the damn display. What happened to the other part of the race? Its block block block, not to gain experience from the game. And if he loses, he bitches about being lamed. Well who's talking then.
Then again, even though I've been playing for some time, my highest level is only 14. But I still love kicking people who have high level auras. I'm not jealous or anything, but I just get the kick of beating the crap out of these kinda players. I only know a few respectable players who earn their flames. And I respect their abilities too, not only the flame.
Thrashed a Level 20 Evo4 upside down with a Level 1 Evo6. That Evo4 was full tuned and the Evo6 I was using was only basic tuned. I whacked him so hard he and his friends were stunned stiff and I walked off after that and snorted in his general direction.
Heng@ : Yes. I love F355! Especially the clutching and shifting! Its so much more realistic compared to IDAS. But too bad its hard for beginners to grasp, hence IDAS being more popular. I'm only learning Suzuka Short now. Haven't progressed to the Full track yet. Hope to have some enlightenment on this. Can't really shift properly, but I fixed the left leg clutching and right leg for braking and accelerating problem already.

I have a serious feeling battle level affects the pick-up...today i used my level 16 GDB to play against a level 13 GDB...and my pick-up beat him pretty easily on iro dh..both full-tuned...though it could just be the shifting...

Bismarck : Hahaha. Yeah. There's a line between a game and the real thing. I hate kids talking big about knowing so much on racing and cars. They even disseminate which car is better... Hahaha. In fact, there's no better car or sort. I feel that its driver's preference. If he thinks its a good car, its a good car. -

I think the aura really does something to your car in the battle. If not what is the point for it? Don't think Sega Rosso will just beautify your car with coloured aura when you pia like siao for every battle to earn your aura right?
Think it does affect your car's pickup lor....also felt my FD behaved differently during battle since ver2...but some pple thought that it is psychological effect...sigh....WTF.
