  conventional rx-8 pickup shld be

  just wondering... on the GC8V shift points... do u give it a cold start or a hot one?... because when i give it a hot start, it is way beyond 5000 rpms.. it starts at like 6000.. so i have trouble shifting at 5000
  
  COLD START = pressing the gas when it says "go" or when the game starts
  HOT START= holding down the gas the entire time before the race and when it starts

  i feel tat d pick up points r pulled according 2 d points ur car had..
  
  for example a 1/2 tuned rx-8 and a fully tuned rx-8..
  
  d points of pick up r v different.. most of d times a fully tuned car pick up will win a 1/2 tuned car if both pulled d same pick up..
  
  however there's this "monster pickup" method which will help d 1/2 tuned car to win a fully tuned car 2 win pick up only d first few gears..
  
  i've tried it wif evo4 last time and it works..

  my gear shift;
  e4 -- 5500, 6200, 6800, 7000
  rx8 -- 6200, 7200, 7800, 7800, 8000
  gdb -- 5500, 6000, 6500, 6700, 7200
  rx7 -- 5500, 6200, 6900, 7000
  r34 -- 6200, 6800, 7400, 7600, 8000
  capp -- 7500, 8800, 9400, 10500
  try this, do a couple TAs, check the time above your cp time at the end of the TA, you'll see the difference.

  evo 3 6500 for 2nd gear too late le.. anywayz.. mine shift pts for mine evo 3 iz 5900.. 6500.. 7000.. ..

  for vs mode,,
  the pickup is quite different than that of TA.
  you wants to get ahead in the first three gears ( first two gears if possible). As long as you lead > 1 m, you can sqeeze the other car into wall /roadside, it'll lose speed, so even he got a car that is much faster in top gears and pickup overall, you still win in pickup. today I vs an er34, it's faster in pickup overall than my evo4, so I lower my first three gears shift pt a bit (5400, 5900, 6200, 6800), and won out the rest of way, of course I kind of push him to the side.and block him a bit.
