as initial d fans might know, Ren Usami, director of initial d and head honcho of OB Kikaku, was in the US recently for the Big Apple Anime Fest held from 29th to 31st Augest 2003 (sidenote: you can check out some fansview thingy/quotes at http://www.fansview.com/2003/baaf/082903b.htm)...
from the initial d mailing list,
" Hey everyone, I just talked to the Director/Producer of Stage 3 (produced the rest of the stages as well), Ren Usami. He said that right before he came to BAAF Big Apple Anime Fest) that the script
for Stage 4 has been approved and is being produced, he said that is should start Airing in Japan by Next Feburary/March. It will be a series and is going to be 12 episodes long. Hope everyone is excited." -

if it's only 12 episodes, seem like alittle short leh. dun think will reach the part where bunta has bought the STI yet. most prob this series will end just after the match against the pro racer.
maybe it they wanted to add in some suspense, at the end of ep 12, they'll put in the part where takumi lost to the sti in akina, but wun really reveal that bunta is the driver. at least not yet. -
